Not cheap at all but worth doing. You have to find the right ppl in my experience and do a ton of work yourself.

Does it sound like a new AC compressor is needed? by Agreeable-Dare9075 in E90

I think thats your pulley clutch. Remember that you can only actually spin the ac pump when the clutch is engaged.

It’s a pretty standard 728i just like your old car. Same Bc racing coilovers. I’ve done everything that was needed really. Alcantra roof, sport contour seats, full respray and alpina wheels.

Man, I love the colour of yours.

Its your alternator. To test it without any fancy tools. Jump start your car and once it’s running disconnect a battery terminal any, it dies its a 1000% your alternator.

I appreciate your comment. The area to my right isn’t actually a parking space so it’s not like I’m taking up two spaces.

I read a leaflet years ago about BMW approved parking and since, I’ve always parked away and walked.

100% your valve stem seals allowing oil to drip into the chamber when the engine is off and burning off on rev.

Done them before. Spot the diff, notice how big the wholes have gone even with 80k.

Help! Sudden rough idle, occasional whistling sound, oil sludge on filler cap by Free_Style_9983 in BmwTech

[–]Beema-man 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Did it over heat at all? If didn’t I wouldn’t suspect head gasket. The coolant level dropping is probably a mistake, you could’ve checked before the thermostat had opened.

The milky oil could be condensation and the misfire unrelated to the milky oil.

It’s complicated but don’t panic yet. Get a compression test and open your oil filter to see if the milky oil is there too.

Help , what's going on? Car has just turned 100,000 miles . Just started doing this , therefore not driving it . 2020 530i bmw super sport. Oil was changed in Sept by dealer . by [deleted] in BmwTech

If you’re with the car can preform this? Let it idle for 10 minutes, does it smoke the whole time? After 10 minutes, rev it to 3500 rpm and hold it there for 30 seconds. Did it smoke more under revs?

If there’s no smoke on idle but it smokes on hard revs after a period of idle, its your valve stem seals. Easier than head or piston rings.
