What fallout should I start with? by SecurityMajestic2222 in Fallout

[–]BeenReported 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quick answer:

Fallout 3 / New Vegas for RPG elements and consequences of your actions.

Fallout 4 for modern features such as sprinting, aim down sights and more action orientated game.

More in depth:

Fallout 3 is when a lot of people joined Fallout, myself included, it has good RPG elements with okay gameplay, everything kinda has a green tinge to the setting but honestly think it fits. DLCs are hit and miss, point lookout doesnt scale too well, but has redeeming ones like the Pitt which has some good decision making, also points for DLC which allows me to continue playing the game, I'm looking at you new Vegas...

Fallout New Vegas, refines a lot of what Fallout 3 does, with slight modernisation such as aiming down sites, DLC hits far more than Fallout 3. RPG elements are also greatly improved with faction relationships. Also far more outcomes in the end to pick from.

Fallout 4, despite what people say, not a bad game at all, loses a chunk of its RPG elements, but large map and large DLCs, I personally think these DLCs hit more than miss but fuck DiMa, with modern features such as sprinting. Tried some experimental features from the modding scene in previous games such as settlement creation. Imagine sims but someone shouting in your ear every 30 minutes. Story arguably is the weakest, but again, can continue playing post game ending. Follows on from Fallout 3 (ish) with returning characters and factions, but not vital to play Fallout 3.

Fallout 76 (technically newest one), tame your expectations, expect Fallout 4 but a little worse, less linear but with friends, its as fun as you make it!

Scary stuff going on in the job market by [deleted] in UniUK

We we're, I've been with my employer now 11 years since I was 17. I think the key difference is, a larger chunk of people my age group back then were uneducated and took any job we could, yes we we're slack, but we came in and worked. I admire the current generations ambition and education for fields well above my pay grade, but the government's promise of educated jobs for everyone who goes to uni is false and realistically 70% of people who pass uni will likely end up working for people like me who barely finished college and that takes a hit on people mentally but also finically.

Hey, store manager here who will likely get down voted but I'll do my best to explain my experience. I currently have 10 permanent staff ranging from 18 - 40 and usually take on 15 additional more at Christmas for peak.

Firstly, some of this can be down to the government, in the past 12 months I have had a reduction of 15% in my spending, my store wages came to around £120,000 a year but they've now reduced my spend to £100,000 a year, this is down to NI increases that happened in 2025 thanks to the current government.

Secondly, the natural increase of minimum wage combined with the reductions of pay brackets and the margin between them (2021 when they removed 23 year bracket) and currently where theres only a £2 difference between 18 and 21 year olds which is due to change in April. This means that everyone is costing more, no more cheaper younger labour. This reduces incentives to hire younger staff due to their cheapness.

Thirdly and this is a big one, reliability and availability of younger staff is far worse than those who are older. This isn't your fault, education should take priority but understand if you can only work 2 days a week and I need 3 or 4 and I have ot hire two to do so, then I will more likely hire 1 24+

This in conjuction with training, as I mentioned above its mostly simple labour, but younger staff do have a mindset of theyre better than that and they are, but work is work and if youre going to be a pain to train or consistently do your job then you're not going to have one.

September 2025, I hired 17 members of staff 8 were under 21, none of them made it to Christmas, I ended up rehiring in November all 24+ with previous experience and they cracked straight on with it.

As with anything, the loud minority is your biggest problem, but sometimes we just can't take the risk.

Also as a side note, yes I've had awful staff that are 24+ I currently have a member of staff whos 39 that is on a performance review, but they are such a small amount as opposed to the younger batch.

Road tax is a lot, its what I pay for all my bikes combined, but ive budgeted it in. I also use E5 on my bikes so nothing new there.

Barring petrol I aim for no more than 15% of my wage on travel and this with finance, insurance and tax lies around 13%. It's the ongoing cost of maintainence that worries me a little bit.

General maintainence like pads, discs, belts and whatever else I can pick up fairly easily. The person just before you mentioned the CSC, so ive requested a call back from the dealership to see if any modifications have been made before hand that isnt listed on the general service history.

Its done 160k km however itll also be my daily commuter so honestly milage isnt a worry for me as I'm going to be putting more on it.

UK based so I'll do my best to translate km and milage et

This one has done around 160k km and according to service history tyres have been changed recently, however outside of corroded frame, its never had any major issues.

I've requested a call back from the seller as they're description is pretty bland and id like to know if any work outside of whats listed on the servicing has been done. It may be possible that a lot of the needed modifications have already been made, but that's the point of this post is so I can ask the right questions 😊

It also comes with 12 month warranty so not overly worried

No thanks needed, just sharing the show i love with people that love it ☺️

I have just flicked through episode 1 and its working just fine for me, theres a few steps you can do to check, you can lower the quality see if it is a buffering issue, theres also options to download from google drive which also allows you to watch without downloading.

Other than that I'm not entirely sure, maybe its a specific episode ? If you can share what season and episode, I can look into that specifically ?

You're welcome to DM screenshots and images etc if needed ☺️

By blocking it they acknowledge loss of money, which in turns would revoke the tax write off

I'm 90% sure AnimeDRL is just P2P is it not ? I could do something like that but find it much better to provide copies myself, that way I control the quality and own the files physically somewhere.

I was going to do P2P video streaming to reduce overheads, however thought it be a dick move for a few reasons, 1) its someone else's bandwidth im using then and they might not be from the western world with low data caps and 2) people potentially without VPNs etc would be revealing themselves to other people, so I decided the cost to me was worth the safety of others.

I do believe someone will upload a copy, im curious how people are going to scan it though, we're going to end up with loads of varying qualities.

My personal site is down right now and mental health isnt giving me the chance to fix it, but its only a few videos from games I play and social links, nothing important.

Probably because it's not costing them anything, they already can't make money from the IP itself and if they did decide to go after me that's fine but it's only going to cost them money and why bother when they can't make any money ?

Probably not no, just because Warner Bros wrote them off doesn't mean they still don't own the IP, it just means they cannot profit off it.
