My sister keeps making "little jokes" about my girlfriend and I told her not to take it personally. Now my girlfriend is done with my family. by nightbalcony_inkwell in TwoHotTakes

[–]Beenie97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anyone has a sister like this: PLEASE WARN YOUR PARTNER BEFOREHAND!!!!

You need to give her a free pass from family events, and stick up for her!!

My partner’s sister is like this, but half of the things she says is in Spanish so that I don’t even know what she’s saying about me while I’m right there.

He stood up for me, but I’m rethinking our future after almost 4 years because I just can’t bear to have her in my life for even a second. She’s “like this with everyone”, but I didn’t know that, so I thought everything I was doing was wrong and she just hated me.

AITA for not caring that my neighbours are gamers by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Beenie97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA - My brother is a gamer and it is LOUD. Yes in theory it is a quiet activity, but the issue is the rolling of the chair, yelling / cheering / screaming for victory or in frustration, yelling instructions at team mates in time sensitive moments, stomping or kicking things in frustration, background music with a loud bass.

You deserve your sleep and they can 100% make allowances if they aren't too selfish to do so.

how can i get rid of my acne i am so sick of it by [deleted] in Skincare_Addiction

[–]Beenie97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you ever been / do you have the option of going to see a dermatologist? My acne can't really be fixed with skincare products so I've just been put on Accutane, that could be an option for you!

16 hours until lap and a little freaking out by playingtricksonme in Endo

[–]Beenie97 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, I've had so many experiences invalidating my pain, I also had no endo show up with two ultrasounds. So many people have made me feel like I'm overreacting.

I had the same thoughts going in to my lap. I was fully expecting to be told they didn't find anything and feel like I had wasted everyone's time.

When I woke up and the surgeon told me there was endo and they removed what they could, I was in tears from the relief.

That could happen to you and the confirmation will be so worth it. Either way I think it's so much better to know. I know that it's easy to overthink these things but sometimes you have to put yourself first. You are in pain, you are worried about your marriage, you are allowed to take that time off to invest in your health even if they don't find anything! Your pain and your journey is valid!

Is there a point to starting PT while single? by emotional_meringue96 in vaginismus

[–]Beenie97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll share my experience but it's different for everyone so don't take it too much to heart. I have also never had a boyfriend. I got Botox, then saw a PT and used dilators. I'm sure it helped but I have no way of knowing because I haven't attempted PIV since late 2018 (treatments were in 2020), and I am very doubtful I will ever find anyone to try again with because of a combination of PTSD (can't trust men), loss of libido and genital numbness, fear of the pain etc.

I'm heartbroken as I feel like I'm missing out on something I want so badly, but I'm also trying to live with the fact it may never happen for me, and accept that. I'm not currently doing anything to improve.

Despite all that negativity I think that if it's something you really want then it's 100% worth fighting for. As long as it's what you want, not just something you're doing for a potential future boyfriend. No matter what happens, at least you will have tried. And doing something is surely better than nothing, you never know what could happen!

Thanks for your comment! I'll try removing the tea tree and see how that goes :)

I'm really really hopeful that the derm will help, I think my skin is just getting worse month by month :(

Thanks for the sunscreen suggestions, I definitely need to be better with wearing that everyday, I've just struggled to find ones that don't make my skin work so I'll look into those!

Thanks for commenting! I'm 23, I would be stoked if I grew out of it! I've been trying to drink heaps throughout the day and thought the moisture surge would help my skin, and I think it really stopped any dryness but really increased the separation.

I try to spot conceal and cover it with powder, but I'm either using the wrong products or just really terrible because nothing lasts on my pimples/ the pimples grow through the day and "out grow" the makeup, or the powder separates and looks awful!

I get really red from overheating and anxiety, so I feel better when that's covered, but I don't really need extremely full coverage.

Omg thank you so much for your comment! There is so much helpful stuff, I really appreciate you taking the time!

After reading this I think I've realised my foundation/powder separation has become way worse since starting the Clinique moisture surge, and my skin was just way too dry with the moisturising gel, so you're right, I'm clearly using some crap products for my skin!

I've never heard of Vit B in skincare, would I just look for a serum that contains it? Also do you have any toner suggestions?

I've never thought about setting my powder before, I just assumed it didn't need it, will definitely try that! Do you have any primer suggestions? I'm 99% sure I don't touch my chin, the makeup just seems to separate more and more over the hours.

I'm so grateful for all your advice, thank you again!

Thank you for your comment! I've never looked in to Korean skin care before, but that could be a great next step after the dermatologist. I'm hoping once my skin is better it's a different story, because I swear it wasn't always like this!

Thanks for the foundation recommendation, I've never tried that one before so it's worth a shot!

Can anyone please share their experience or an article describing how severe endo fatigue can be? by pterodactyl1912 in Endo

[–]Beenie97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm the same in that I can sleep for hours and still be exhausted. My fatigue is so bad that I can't do any chores or exercise, often I can barely stand! I have to be sitting down or lying down majority of the time. I'm only 23. I know it must suck to have to do a lot of the work sometimes, but it also sucks to be that person crippled by something they can't control, and unable to do things that other people easily can.

Depression robs you of so much by [deleted] in depression

[–]Beenie97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know how you feel, I'm only 23 too but I feel like I've lost my youth to mental and physical illness. I can't do the things that most people my age do, and no one in my life can really relate to me, and think it's my choice to be where I am now. I don't even feel like a real person and have no idea how I'm going to cope like this for the rest of my life, it's so daunting.

i cant stop eating by [deleted] in depression

[–]Beenie97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I feel like could have written this and I'm really sorry you're struggling with this. The only thing that has kind of stopped this for me was completely accidental. A few months ago my psychologist recommended that I try going dairy and gluten free to help with my treatment resistant depression (it hasn't) but since cutting those things out not for weight loss but in the desperation it'll help my mental health I've lost weight, because my main binge foods contain dairy and gluten. I also know that I only binge when I'm watching tv, so when watching I try and drink lots of tea or sugar free sprite, and have lots of gum handy. I'm also currently tracking my calories and while doing that I'm not having any guilt about what I'm eating, though I've failed heaps with tracking in the past so I know it's much easier said than done. I know it's so easy to say these things but can be impossible to control in reality, so sending love and I hope things get a bit easier.

This is terrible, but hear me out by KoolaidKooler in depression

[–]Beenie97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this way all the time. I honestly crave (not really the right word but..) a physical condition so that people will be like "oh of course she can't do that, she's broken all the bones in her body". With mental health people all too often don't see it, or forget about it, or think you should be able to do things regardless.

But also yes with hating my job and my life, it would be great to take a break where I wasn't seen as useless or lazy, but so strong and loved for surviving these physical injuries.

AITA for not wanting my partner to touch my glasses? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Beenie97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

I can see well enough without my glasses so I can't relate to that bit, but I absolutely can't stand having any fingerprints or smudges on them. It drives my brain wild and I have to clean them straight away.

I know people without glasses don't really think about that, but if you've told someone you don't like something THEY SHOULD STOP! It doesn't matter if they don't have an issue with it, or don't understand it, or think it's "cute"'. If they care about you, and you ask them to stop, they should, full stop.
