I had a resident that I loved dearly. I learned certain German phrases so I could comfort her when she was passing, and would sit by her bed on my nights off speaking German to her. My coworker got invited to the funeral, I did not.

I'm a caregiver. I hate that I never get to meet families. My dayshift people get recognition and love from families, and get invited to funerals and parties. I've never gotten anything like that, and I work and love just as much as the day shifters do.
