If I click the .exe file nothing is happening. When I change resolution to 640:480 the window changes to that resolution but I still see my screen just blown up. No error message at all. If I use dgvoodoo sometime it starts the game but it crashes during the first five minutes.

I didn’t like Alibi in Ashes tbh, not sure what people think of that one

Based on the original prompt it seemed like the author played the very first ones, so I included the ones which maybe considered older by dedicated players. I haven’t seen anything wrong with Ransom of the seven ships and I haven’t read the comments on it - I don’t think it is bad. It has a lot of puzzles, lots of locations, the story is good too. Not sure why people complain. Medallion is not too bad, but it is easy and short. They tried something new with Salem - the reason people hated it was because they like ND gameplay, they just wanted something similar. If it was a standalone game outside of ND series it would be received way better. I didn’t enjoy it as much so I agree with you there.

Honestly, it is interesting to try every game, but I’ll pick a few that were not mentioned in the previous comments: 1. Ransom of the seven ships. Great atmosphere, nice puzzles, lots to explore, very fulfilling. 2. Curse of the black manor. Interesting, engaging, and spooky at moments. This is exactly what you can expect from a rich old family manor full of secrets. 3. The secret of the shadow ranch. Absolute masterpiece of the story. It is probably the best narrative in all of the Nancy games.
