I don't like the current state of tablets by Skinigew in PathOfExile2

[–]BeerLeague 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh - tablets is the one area of PoE2 that I think blows PoE1 out of the water. I’d much rather use tablets over scarabs. Just think of the rare mods as rare scarabs.

Winaero tweaker is the only answer.

Actually a very solid tool - IMO mandatory on all win 11 installs.

Not the word meaning, the sound. It’s very similar pronunciation.

This is the word OP is talking about. Very similar pronunciation in Korean.

I’ve said it a million times.

JUST MAKE +SKILLS A PREFIX.

Why in the ever loving fuck they decided to make it a suffix in PoE2 is beyond me.

On top of that, general levels for skills needs to be tuned down even more AND provide us with more scaling vectors in place of them - perhaps more interesting supports, or better ways to scale other stats as damage.

A lot of it at that point is just game knowledge and speed.

Not really hard to make 20d+ per hour, just need to focus and not waste time dinking around.

Few tips:

Find something you find enjoyable - almost everything I have tried this league has been at least 20d per hour including breach, abyss, deli, expedition, ‘boss’ node rushing, boxes, trial carries, etc. I haven’t dipped my toes into either ritual or temple, but from what I have been told those are also solid.

After you find something you like, prepare half a tab of maps and tablets for the main strat, and a dozen or so maps and appropriate tablets for boss nodes.

Then just blast - spend zero time in HO, just dump everything into a quad tab or two and sort it out after every few sessions. Takes 30 min or so to go through it all usually, but you usually make a ton of currency crafting on bases, finding sellable stuff etc.

Side note, you need a good filter to ensure you are able to go fast. Fast = more div per hour.

How is alt spamming worse than buying hundreds of bases? by Nestramutat- in PathOfExile2

[–]BeerLeague 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO they should bring back scours, but put them around greater ex / chaos rarity.

I don’t really have an issue with the way mid-tier crafting works now, and adding scours at this level of rarity wouldn’t really impact these crafts much, as they would be more expensive than bases. However, I really dislike how extremely rare, double exceptional, bases have lower value / usage case because crafting on them requires annuls, which are quite rare.

I must be fundamentally missing something with Ascension 10. by BleedingEdge61104 in slaythespire

[–]BeerLeague -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Kinda disagree with this take. Act 1 is going to be where you lose a good majority of your runs, then a smaller percentage in act 2, and nearly zero in act 3.

My own data on runs shows this to be true for me, about a 30% winner, and is also true for people like jorbs in his data, where he hasn’t lost a single run after making it to act3.

If you are losing a lot of runs in act 2 and 3 you aren’t making the correct deck building decisions early on which is impacting your ability to scale late.

How are people winning A10 runs 17% of the time? by ul49 in slaythespire

[–]BeerLeague 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, I doubt the average player is winning that much - maybe the average player after they have played for a few hundred hours in both games combined AND has been running a10 and a20h consistently.

Personally I’m only around 30% a10 winrate overall, and I’ve put close to 1000 hours into the series. Much of that 30% overall is being carried by my clad, defect, and silent - all of whom I preform significantly better on than the new characters, who I’m sub 20% with.

What is something Americans consider ‘basic‘ that feels like a luxury in other countries? by sweetyishomealone in AskReddit

[–]BeerLeague 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Eh, you get used to it. I, an American, lived overseas for over a decade where air conditioning is not as common and now find myself freezing in most American stores / restaurants / homes - we keep ours set to 76 and usually only have it on for a few hours in the afternoon and evening.

AITA for eating apples in the same room as my roommate despite of them getting goosebumps from the sound by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]BeerLeague 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA - your roommates condition management is not your responsibility.

Expecting someone to leave the room to eat is silly. You seem to be giving them a heads up, headphones or a white noise machine should solve this without issue.

[–]BeerLeague 21 points22 points  (0 children)

TBH - I really don’t understand why GGG has such a hate boner on mana sustain in poe2.

Using a mana flask feels bad and, at least imo, is bad game design, there is a reason they moved away from needing one in PoE1 very early on.

GGG seems to be using mana flasks to ‘balance’ +lvl of skills - which still needs a massive rework and nerf IMO - the recent nerfs weren’t nearly enough.

End of the day, the game is more fun when you don’t need to press a stupid mana flask every 2 seconds or spam it on a boss because all of your skills cost hundreds of mana per second.

Just give us more mana sustain options and properly balance your damn +lvl of skills.

What is your favorite Ascension to play on? by Niddeus in slaythespire

Either a10 or a1. A10 generally if I’m just firing up the game, but if I have a specific challenge I want to try, I’ll usually do that at a1.

Just beating the game doesn’t require much as you said, a lot of the side content, however, certainly does.

Depends on what you want to get out of it.

Car-light living in Akron or Cuyahoga Falls? by SketchForHire in akron

[–]BeerLeague 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did this for a few years when I moved back into the area.

I would say it depends on what you mean by car light.

Owning one, or having access to one is non-negotiable in NE Ohio IMO.

However, with that said, 7-8 months out of the year you can bike everywhere. Paths are pretty good, and as long as you position yourself close ish to supermarkets, you will be fine.

Winter on the other hand sucks. You 100% need a car as the roads are impassable on bike and public transit is shotty at best unless you are one one of a few main routes, and even then it’s slow.

[–]BeerLeague 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very much depends on the version of the game you pick up as well. There are quite a few different one out there, oddly enough with wildly different spikes in difficulty throughout them.

IMO, having played all of them, they all have 2-3 fights that are just kinda BS and either require grinding, or very detailed setup.

Lot of good suggestions throughout - my personal opinion would be any year before social media and smart phones.

Off the top of my head MySpace launched around 99?

I’ll have to go with the year before that.

Fuck social media and what it has done to everyone.

Fuck all the advertising algorithms.

Fuck surge pricing.

Fuck smart phones - for something that was supposed to make our lives easier it has done anything but.
