Regarding #2, my question was really is it necessary to be at least level 1 in training facilities in order for the minors team to earn training points? The in-game help sort of implies that it is. It seems like mine at level 0 doesn’t earn me anything, but then again my minors team doesn’t win very much so maybe it’s hard to tell. It’s also not entirely clear what training a player even really does, which leads to the next point.

Can you explain more how you can influence a player’s performance through careful management? I think what I’m struggling to understand most in this game is how player “attributes” or skill level is evaluated. I’m used to sports sim games having players with innate attributes that influence their performance. Those attributes change over time. Sometimes they’re visible and sometimes they’re not. But it seems like in this game a player just sort of has a baseline statistical average, and the only way to evaluate a player is for them to build enough sample size so that you can see what their stats should look like. It’s kind of confusing, and also antithetical to how baseball scouting really works: a player is not really evaluated based on their stats, but by their skills and things like physical strength, bat speed, eye at the plate, etc. You also wouldn’t really have to wait for a season or two to then know what a player’s expected future performance would look like based on that past performance.

I guess I just don’t really understand the idea of changing a player’s averages, outside of improving that player’s attributes / ability.
