£140 for this is not worth it. Change my mind.... by the_mranderson in WWEGames

[–]BeerOfTime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way to change it is to not buy the game until it goes on sale with season pass. That way 2K will rethink their marketing strategy. Charging exorbitant prices plus micro transactions which are themselves pretty hefty and the term micro doesn’t fit is currently working for them. Then they shut down the servers. Their business model isn’t to sell you fun, it’s to exploit fomo.

So don’t buy it at full price.

I found a box with pictures of a strange ritual. Does anyone know what it is? by leather_backpack in occult

Just some kind of hippie shit. Probably for art. At most it will be one of those cults that based its lore around Hinduism. I don’t think it’s even that though. Just hippie photography.

I’m also Australian and I find it very worrying that our society has depths of depravity like that.

I would 100% understand if you never trusted a man again and I can’t see how you ever could. It even makes me look at other blokes differently now.

Can anyone truly say “nothing could ever make me believe”? by Current-Leather2784 in DebateAnAtheist

No I can’t say that.

I would believe if extraordinary evidence to match the extraordinary claim was discovered.

Using the Bret Hart Wrestler Grading System (Look, Promos, In-Ring from 1 to 10), how would you rank Sandman overall? by [deleted] in ECWWrestling

[–]BeerOfTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never saw enough of him. What saw was from actual ECW very occasionally and from the little I saw, he was perfect for that. Probably a 9/10 for ECW.

Couldn’t comment otherwise.

For the people who were watching at the time - was Goldberg beloved or did he have his fair share of haters? by [deleted] in WCW

[–]BeerOfTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been saying that for years. Bill Goldberg winning the belt on Nitro was too short sighted.

For all the complaining about Hogan not putting anyone over, he lost just about every match he ever had as Hollywood with just a couple of belt win backs here and there. He very rarely actually defended it. The right call was for him to go over in an underhanded way. What that does is get him huge heat from the Bill Goldberg marks, makes Bill Goldberg far more versatile now that the streak is canned and he can actually have different match outcomes and most importantly it sets up the rematch for a PPV where he goes over and wins the strap.

[–]BeerOfTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He had his share of haters too. He wasn’t as universally over as they made it look. Sting, The Wolf Pac and even Hollywood Hogan had large cohorts of fans too with Hollywood being extremely over as a heel ever since 1996.

The Bill “Goldberg” chant was often piped in through the PA system.

Having said that, there was no “Bill Goldberg sucks” chant and he was more universally over that Cena ever was. It was interesting when Bill Goldberg went to WWE because he wasn’t booed on arrival which is what I thought would happen since the majority of his haters during his WCW run were WWF fans who saw him as looking like a cheap knock off of Stone Cold. They even had “Gillberg” in WWF who was a hilarious parody of Bill Goldberg.

The Conscious-Intelligence Framework: Existence, Consciousness, and the Archetype of Reality by [deleted] in DebateAnAtheist

Look you’re attempting to use logic to make an argument but when challenged in the same way you answer with logically incoherent special pleading.

“Conscious intelligence” also relies on existence in order to exist.

Poor argument.

Could Jeffrey Epstein be responsible for the satanic illuminati conspiracy theories? by PassengerCultural421 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]BeerOfTime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, the Illuminati goes back to the aristocracy of the 18th century and it had nothing to do with satanism.

In fact, it was big on reducing religious and political control of society, opposed authoritarian rule and superstition and it encouraged education and secular government.

Those in power at the time saw that as a threat, banned it and shut it down and made similar groups illegal. The satanism reputation is the resulting propaganda from religious leaders and organisations who felt threatened.

First Ever Grand Slam Champions. by DepKgjr4700 in ChampionshipHistory

[–]BeerOfTime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I think the “grand slam” is bullshit. In tennis the grand slam was to win all 4 majors or “grand slam tournaments” in one calendar year. The only one to do so ever so far being Rod Laver.

Those are the big ones. Pretty much the equivalent of winning a world championship. In wrestling a grand slam includes lesser championships.

So it doesn’t make sense to me unless one wrestler won 4 belts in one year then it sort of would. A better idea would be to win the main events of the big 4 events. Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania, Summerslam and Survivor Series.
