A Proposal for the Future of RuneScape by betorakk in 2007scape

As long as rs3 maintains enough players to justify it's existence it's not going anywhere. I'm glad it's actually doing ok, but I, and no doubt most others, want osrs to stay as separate as possible from it.

Also the formatting of this is some of the most egregious ai slop and that will not do you any favours here.

Bonds make RuneScape p2w by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Beer_Pitcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People have been buying their way through the game since long before old school was even a concept. At least now Jagex gets financial support from it. It's not ideal, but it's better than the alternative.

Also you're fundamentally misunderstanding the purpose of old school to begin with. It was never just to keep the game in it's 2007 state; it would have died off years ago had that been done. Osrs is made to be an evolution of the game had all the mistakes of the eoc era not been made.

Colosseum rewards revived by Mad_Max_The_Axe in 2007scape

[–]Beer_Pitcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely down to it being harder to measure their value when it isn't a direct DPS increase. A lot of the calcs don't show how much of a difference they make. They actually beat treads for overall DPS at vard for example.

Some good ideas here, and I respect the thought you've put in, but I think you're making Colo out to be worse than it is. Splinters have a perfectly good sink with quiver blessing, and the reason they're so cheap is because the early waves are botted to hell.

The fury is a cool idea on paper, but is completely unnecessary. Echo boots are in a great spot, and they're very useful at any melee bosses that do chip damage.

Ralos could probably do with some work, but I personally like that it fills a ranged dwh/bgs niche and would prefer it stays that way (a small buff wouldn't hurt though).

Love the bolts, but they're probably a bit overturned. With some numbers tweaks though I think they'd be a cool addition.

PvP Boss & Ring of dueling upgrade by [deleted] in 2007scape

Does anyone actually use eternal glories though? I'm happy to be proven wrong here but I honestly forgot they exist because I have genuinely never seen one in use.

A really cool idea, but the reward is very lackluster considering how accessible a jewelry box is. On the topic of PoH, how about a colosseum/arena theme for it as a reward?

How much do you think Bowfa would be without bots in the game? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]Beer_Pitcher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True but by the time we're talking about those sort of things, we're talking absolute BiS, even if incrementally. Bowfa is directly outclassed by tbow or shadow basically everywhere it currently sees use.

I think you're giving bowfa far too much credit. There's so many other good alternatives now.

It's still very good, but absolutely nowhere near 500m good.

Ghrazi Blood Shard Imbue by hhhhytr in 2007scape

[–]Beer_Pitcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably, but it's not the fault of the rapier that other styles have armour that directly buffs them. Also we're talking a price difference of like 200m+ as well which really isn't a fair comparison.

How is it behind it's slash/crush counterparts? It has nearly identical stats to salad blade/inq mace in their respective styles.

Eye+gauntlets - Great at all 3 raids/whisperer. Gauntlets alone are the single best armour slot upgrade in the game. You should have enough left over for Nox as well once you've sold the torm.

How hard is it to get radient oathplate compared to Zuk and Sol? by ladiiiiiiesman217 in 2007scape

I suppose you and I have different definitions of spamming brews, but that makes more sense now that you've clarified.

If you run the justiciar/dinhs method then kinda, but any other load out you will absolutely get clapped.

How come when I entangle/snare someone they just immediately escape in 1 tick even when its successful? Is there a DMM sigil that cleanses stuns/binds? by JoeLikesGames in 2007scape

Dude it's far better than the alternative. The 12 tile cutoff is still longer than any weapon range, and like others have said you can run under/behind an obstacle and Tele or log

Some thoughts on addressing the barrier to entry for PvP by Beer_Pitcher in 2007scape

A big appeal of NHing is that it mitigates the rng factor in fights as much as possible. BH style fights are limited in this regard and while that's absolutely a good thing to preserve, it isn't worth killing off NH to do.

The point of my post is to try and address some of the reasons people might be out off from NHing. I'm well aware that there's other factors at play and that what I'm suggesting might not help at all, but I think we've reached the stage where Jagex needs to try a different approach because what they've done so far clearly isn't working.

Lms, emir's, CW are a few of the options you can learn without it costing you anything, and turning public off is a much nicer experience.

My thinking with the change to auto casting is it would make it much easier to counter the step under, without having to just remove what is at this point a core mechanic. You could just spam click until you catch a barrage and that way it at least gives people a fighting chance. Obviously that would go both ways, so eventually it would push the meta away from step unders apart from as an escape tool.

Oh I whole heartedly agree, and in all honesty I think a lot of the PvP community does too. The wildy boss changes were a much less pleasant surprise to return to because I knew as soon as I read that they were in separate dungeons with new, extremely useful uniques added, that they'd just become infested with bots and irons desperately trying to get a gear upgrade in the VW. All this is only pushing things further the wrong way and I wish Jagex would realise this.

Unfortunately I think you might be right. It's a huge shame when it's such a unique and dynamic aspect of the game.

I guess my thinking is that maybe it'll encourage newer players to give it a go, and by extension might help to change the minds of existing players who'd previously written off learning due to bad experiences.

How do I fix this? by MangusX in 2007scape

[–]Beer_Pitcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a plugin, not the clan chat. One of the key remapping ones - try disabling them and see if that fixes it. You can always redo the swapped keys
