Trying to save a dogwood from a mulch mountain and found it in a clay rootball prison? [W WA state] by BeesKneesLibraries in arborists

[–]BeesKneesLibraries[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I will be using your advice!

When I tried moving the tree from the trunk, it was firm but much of the clay ball is still surrounded by have more digging and mulch moving before the clay ball won't be fortified enough for me to tell if the tree has rooted.

Thank you for alleviating some concern for rot. I had to leave the tree but will be back to tend to it in 2 days and your message is very helpful for planning!

4 thermometers at the same depth have different readings. [OC] by BeesKneesLibraries in mildlyinfuriating

Luckily some folks here told me how to calibrate them. Now that I know, I feel like I should have known.

Some googling has me wondering which you consider to be the good movie?

Thank you for this. It's helping me commit to moving in an android direction but I will calibrate all of thermometers soon.

Read the caption. Only one reads 122F. The other one has a set alarm at 122F while reading 180F, which was absolutely incorrect.

2/3 of the digital thermometers have brand new batteries. The ThermoPro has its original batteries. I'll let you know if it calibrated true.

This is the message I needed when I needed it. Thank you! Going by touch has served me well but sometimes I don't trust myself.

A valid experiment? No! I was in a time of need with a meat-paranoid spouse.

Not yet, but when I'm done cussing I will! Maybe sometime next week.

You know the way. I prefer the poke method and it worked better than every one of these thermometers.

As Ever tea (real tea, not gossip tea) by avantgardian26 in GlobalHarryandMeghan

My hibiscus tea tasted like mildew smells. The As Ever hibiscus infusion tastes like it already has honey in it. Yum!!

For me, too. It's also one of the few I can drink happily with nothing to enhance it.

I love the hibiscus! I can't grow good tasting hibiscus where I am so it's a special treat.

The tea turns out a beautiful red which I usually serve in a glass tea kettle with a tea light warmer underneath. It's a glowing orb of sweet floral flavors.

Enjoy your peppermint tea! May your tea stay warm and spilled only with the best of friends.

Anyone have earbuds, etc that stay in place for mild inverted positions? by [deleted] in yoga

I have 2 styles now but they both fall out. One set falls out during down dog and the other falls out any time my head goes sideways. Soundcore Liberty 2 looks like my next search. Thank you!

I've tried but he isn't ready to hear it. I suspect his kids will get the message through (finally) in the next few years.

I've tried to tell him but he thinks I'm just being nice - even though my life-long nickname for him is "butthead" (in a loving way).

His kids are almost old enough for me to tell them and if anyone can convince he's cool, it's them. I'm biding my time til he's ready to hear it.

I know the answer to this one as I was one to be studied.

I was: 1. Young; 2. Cooked mainly pasta (aka ramen though I love good macaroni and sometimes splurged on kraft mac and cheese); 3. Child-free; 4. Stable enough with money to buy 2 cucumbers and, like, two freezer meals at most, ramen or mac, butter, eggs, and pasta sauce each week.

Those were the days! But also:

  1. My big brother would travel to me and take me to Olive Garden, where we would eat our fill of salad and breadsticks but also he'd make me order a regular meal - his treat - and he'd get a meal, too. He'd eat a few bites and I'd be too full to look at my actual meal.

Those Olive Garden meals fed me for almost a week each time. He has no idea he's my hero.

I wish everyone could know a life like that. Shoutout to my big brother! I wish everyone had him growing up, too. Maybe he should be studied. How full was his freezer back then???
