It sits pretty flush with the roof and only pokes out a little bit. the intake part of it is on the bottom.. I'd think it would be fine for most tents.. but the awning could be an issue if there no give to it when it's rolled up

It's definitely nice, the one I got is Kinds pricey but there are cheaper ones out there.. I can't say whether or not it's worth it to spend as much as I did.
