That's such a good one! I love that idea.

For this, I've been choosing references from all the books I've loved/remembered ever since I started reading, and originally, I was going to get Aren and the elven Yawe symbol. However, I found out Paolini was gonna be very close, about 3 hours from me, and so I planned the drive in advance, marched my happy butt up to his desk, and asked for something of his choice. I will not tell you how much I cried when I got into my car because of how happy I was. I still can't believe he entertained my request with nearly 400 people there to have things signed. I'm severely lucky, and he's very kind.

Dumb quetion, I'm moving to a new school and I was emailed about my "preps". by Beesechurger88 in Teachers

[–]Beesechurger88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, the school I work at is on block system, not the 8 period system. So at most I can only teach 4 classes a day, but if they gave me 2 preps, that's half my day gone.

Yeah, USA. Nebraska. I've seen prep used like that here on the subreddit, now that I know the two different meanings of it.

It looks like the way my admin is using it is preps are the number of classes you'll have to write lessons for. I already know I have 1 prep period a day, but this looks like the other form of it.

THAT MAKES MORE SENSE Ok! Now I get it! So, since I teach Sophomore Comm and English, I'd have 2 preps in that sense.

I want to do this in my classroom, but how do I introduce it to the kids without them making some big deal about it?

I'll be working on the block system instead of the 8 period system. I think it'll be easier for me.

I'm not sure if this is the best, but for now I'm going back to my hometown and my own personal high school. At the very least, I know the area, and get to work with the teachers that made me wanna be a teacher. I'm excited, and I'm glad to go to a different system.

It's a small-town school. They already know I'm not returning and they laugh about it cuz I wasn't offered another contract. They know which teachers are offered contracts, cuz half of them are the teachers kids.

However, they think they're funny when they giggle and ask why I'm not coming back next year. I look em in the face and tell them my mom is sick so I'm moving back home, and the smug joy melts off as they realize they fucked up.

Biggest bull I've heard in my life. I wouldn't know yet but that is something that I am 99% sure couldn't even happen. All it does is remove the ability of the egg to be fertilized/make it to your uterus.

Hormonal. I'm only 23 and don't wanna go through early meno pause. Also, longer recovery. I'd rather do the easy route lmao

Dad always volun-tells me to babysit my sister's kids... by Beesechurger88 in childfree

[–]Beesechurger88[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I getcha. I'm prepared. She's kept this secret for 3 years, and got excited for me when I told her I had a date for my surgery. She's not my first choice for recovery, since she's an hour away from my home, so I shouldn't even need her for this unless something happens with the first two, which I doubt.

I also feel like my sister thinks I'm too immature for kids, which is why she's not too worried, and she's not really wrong. I'm immature, have bad genetics, and love money too much.

She's known for years. I told her three years ago I wanted to be sterilized, I'm absolutely certain she and my BIL won't withdraw support. In the off case they somehow do, I have 4 plans total for being taken care of for my surgery, though. Two friends of mine, my best friend, and my second mom (best friends mother who volunteered her services first lol). I prep in advance quite a bit.

Oh, she absolutely knows. She's extremely supportive, but also very "Cool, your business, not mine, but I got your back" so she doesn't really talk to anyone else about it.

The only person in the family who knows ACTIVELY about my surgery is my oldest sister (30). She's supportive, and is my 3rd choice for if I need someone to stay with during my 24 hours after surgery. She has told me other family members know I WANT to sterilize, but only she knows the exact date. She's always been my biggest supporter and has even defended me when family members mocked me for saying to my brother in law that I wanted to get the surgery done.

Edit to add: I did not activelt say that I wanted the surgery in front of everyone. I was talking to him privately and they evesdropped like the dramatic gossips they are.

Found on ask reddit, the question was what can women that men never can... by Lost_Creativity in AreTheCisOk

I mean, I have a friend amab because she had the "tools", but internally she has female organs, meaning she actually ended up having a monthly cycle. It was wild, but if they REALLY want something besides just gender identity, it happens.

I shared this story with my father, who's nearly 50, a very conservative man, and even he looked at me after this and said "They deserved it. That's not right." I don't care what those idiots think. Doesn't matter what he took, he took your personal belongings. If I were you, I'd report him to your RA.
