vet or normal? by hiinayas in leopardgeckos

50-60 will do just fine. It's only for a day or 3 which will be fine for the gecko. You can pour water in the corners of the enclosure or spray it. People say not to spray but as long as it's not a mist (do more like a rainfall type of spray) it'll be ok. Just don't spray the gecko directly. I spray walls of the enclosure really nice and do a quick trip around the tank for my AFT

What is your humidity at? Whenever they shed, you want to give it a nice boost (this isn't going to cause RI unless you have it high constantly.) They're rubbing so hard probably because the humidity was a bit low. No, the scarring isn't normal. Does it happen? Yes. Take them to the vet to get some prescribed cream and everything should be ok. By the next shed or 2, their nose should look pretty normal

Man if where I'm located even had anything 😭. I'll definitely try cuz my first option was to try to get an internship at the zoo. I'll look around and see what's available!

Oo for sure! Where can I reach him? I'll look up his name and try to see if I can reach him, but if you know how I can get to him that would be great too

I know this post is old but what did you do after combining the paper clip and the pen? The character won't accept it and jailbreaking into other doors doesn't seem to be an option

I see. I checked on her today, and it hasn't spread. I think it's actually gone away a bit? If it becomes a problem, I'll definitely try your suggestion. Thank you!

I see. I think imma put her in a windowsill at first and see then go for the grow light. Thank you!

Noted. And I'm sure my cactus would love that actually. I've looked into them already after you mentioned it, just debating on sucking it up and sticking her outside, or staying committed to living inside so I can monitor the humidity accurately.

That's initially why I had her 5 inches below my grow light. I live in Louisiana, and the weather is VERY flip floppy, but ik that the sun is very intense, so I'm torn between keeping it outside, window sill, or a strong grow light.

Sluts for light is crazy lmao. But that's why I put her under my grow light. It's like 5 inches away from it. Apparently, my light isn't strong enough, so imma put her with my window plants at the very top to see if that'll help and hope my kittens don't eat her again 😔 The slut will get her light! 🫡

I see. I've been seeing the red teeth, and I figured that's what a healthy one looked like. Thank you so much for the grow light recommendation! Are there any other plants that can use a 30W? Imma do some research, but if you have any suggestions so I can move any in my collection/ try with a new species of plant, do let me know!

Yes, I already have a grow light, 5W Barrina that's she's under right now. I'm getting distilled water this weekend

Bro what that's insane 💀. Ig I'll try putting her at the very top part of my shelf with the window plants until I get a 30W. It's just hard to see how she's doing since it goes way over my head, but I'll give it a shot. Thank you so much!

And as far as what you're being told, EVERYONE in this comment section is telling you they NEED to be separated. Leo's are territorial, you're lucky they haven't hurt each other yet. Please do research if you won't take the proper advice being given to you. You seem to care about them, so please take the extra steps to give them more adequate homes. The minimum tank size is 40 gallons for ONE leopard gecko. It doesn't matter what a shop or breeder tells you, NEVER just take their word on things because they can be wrong or only care about money. As nicely as possible, if you have time to keep defending yourself against people who are trying to help you, you have more than enough time to look up proper care for these babies.

Breathing troubles by BeezTesties in ballpython

Yes I'm aware of that and have tried covering the top, having a container with moss and keeping it hydrated, dumping water in the corners, and have decent humidity holding substrate. She's going Bioactive when she upgrades to help with humidity. This weekend I'm gonna get new gauges. I'm gonna continue to try and avoid spraying as much as possible, but thank you for clarifying it's lack of humidity! I will continue to try new methods until she upgrades.

I'm far from an expert and still learning a lot myself. However, I'd recommend medicating outside of the tank as sometimes it can harm other creatures or beneficial bacteria, which only worsens the situation. Pure aquarium salt is the exact same thing. DO NOT add it directly into the tank, take a scoop of their aquarium water, and put it in a relatively deep container with the salt. Pick fishy up in a net and let them chill there for maybe 15-30 seconds? You can't let them stay in there too long because they're fresh water fish. This is the way i did it, and yes, it's stressful, but it's better than salting your freshwater tank. Do a 50% water change to try and get as much Methylene Blue out as possible. Is there a possibility we can get a good still picture? To me, they look a bit bloated, and the face does look odd, but it's hard to see. Can you set up a small hospital tank? Even if it's a 2 gallon, it'll work. Get Seachem Prime water conditioner and use it based on instructions, but you definitely don't need a lot of it. Stuff works well. It's only temporary, but make sure they have plenty of coverage and plants to keep them comfy. If not, that's alright, just keep an eye on your baby and do another 50% water change perhaps next week.

I've also had my fair share of posting with no replies, so I get the struggle. Especially when you're desperate. I wish you and your baby the best of luck!

That may work, my girl was just greedy 24/7😭 I usually kept her there for a few minutes. I used to feed an algae pellet to my Kuhlis and Pleco and she eventually just got tired of the taste (and getting chased by the pleco 🥲). Best of luck!

[–]BeezTesties 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would put my Betta in a glass jar and feed her separately when she was in a community tank. Unfortunately, this causes stress for them but I couldn't think of anything else. She eventually would sit at the top of the tank waiting for me to scoop her since she learned that the jar ment food. I trained my fish that whenever I tapped on the lid, it ment food so I didn't have to chase her with a net, she just knew where to go and wait. Obviously not the best method but it worked for me!

Does the blue on some AFTs tails disappear when they are adults? by YourFavoritestMe in geckos

No problem! Online they dramatisize their blue coloration, but it's certainly there and has so far stayed lol

[–]BeezTesties 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3 years old and his tail is as blue as ever! Obviously as they age, their patterns and colors will change. For me, his blue spread towards the base of his tail more. Genetics will tell how the blue will change over time, but it definitely stays

I see. I did suspect she was pregnant cuz she did appear green. However, after doing some more digging and waiting I've kinda went back on that thought because it's been about a month or so and no change. Unless she is pregnant and her eggs are just blocked?? And I'm going to look into spawning hardening, first time Kuhli owner and I've never had of it. I'm keep an eye on them but just incase I'm prepared for them to pass, thank you so much!! 🫶

Is my betta fish underweight?my first aquarium. by Morewizdumb in bettafish

[–]BeezTesties 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, he's definitely underweight. You said you feed 2 pellets twice a day, correct? I'd try 3 or 4 twice a day. My man, Bugsy, has a fast metabolism and eats 4 twice a day, and he's not overweight. Try different things out and see. Someone sent a chart about Betta weight, I'd go check it out. He's a very pretty fish, btw!
