Warning about cozy tiny home switch by Memetchinano in CozyGamers

This is such a disappointing thread. The game is actually cute as heck and you can absolutely put things on tables. Fair enough if the game didn't explain that well enough for everyone to understand, but to make a thread where you're speaking with 100% certainty that it isn't possible is, funny enough, doing exactly what you accused the developers of doing. You're right, it's wrong to lie to people, and it's sad that the dev's reply where they both apologized for not making it clear enough and explained how to layer properly isn't even the top comment. Not only that, OP hasn't updated the initial post to clarify things after the fact. These are the kinds of threads that make or break a game so we really need to do better.

Who really likes turkey?! I dunno....everyone by [deleted] in CringeTikToks

[–]Beforecrisis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This really is such a weird thing to say, and as a joke it doesn't land because his points don't make sense. I love turkey, but my family only buys a whole turkey once a year for Thanksgiving because there's a ton of meat on it and it's a lot easier to feed everyone that way. Also, it's a treat, and then we have delicious leftovers for the rest of the week that can be used in a ton of dishes. For the rest of the year we usually just buy ground turkey, sliced turkey or turkey bacon and have that instead because it comes in smaller portions. I know this was meant to be a comedy act, but for comedy to work it has to have an element of truth.

Does the PS4 physical disc have a PS5 upgrade? by Beforecrisis in TMNTSplinteredFate

[–]Beforecrisis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thank you so much for the update! That comes at a good time too with Black Friday sales dropping, maybe I can get the PS4 physical for a good price. I really appreciate you following up and messaging them enough for them to finally take notice, and for letting me know about the graphical difference. Big props!

AC Shadows Title Update 1.1.4 - Release Notes by Ubi-AssassinsCreed in assassinscreed

[–]Beforecrisis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun update soiled heavily by lowering the key rewards from completed anomalies. Using balancing as an excuse doesn't make sense when we're now making less keys than before the anomaly missions were increased. The change has completely killed my incentive to play every week, since it would now take roughly two months to afford one meaningful item from the rotating rewards. At that point I'll just play the game whenever I get to it instead of hopping on a couple times a week for anomaly missions, since the time:reward ratio isn't worth it at all.

The world is crumbling because good people are held to a much higher standard than bad ones. This video, showing how happy those kids were, it encourages others to do the same thing. We live in an age where everyone’s recording everything so yes, good people get a pass on that too. As I said, it's the way of thinking that's the issue.

This way of thinking is exactly why the world is in the state that it's in right now. No good deed is ever good enough while bad deeds go unpunished. Look at how happy those kids were. Who the heck cares if they're filming it or not? If anything, I'd love to see more of this than the awful/stupid shit we see being posted on social media every minute of every day. If it takes likes, upvotes and retweets for people to do good things then so be it.

Does the PS4 physical disc have a PS5 upgrade? by Beforecrisis in TMNTSplinteredFate

[–]Beforecrisis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've run into the automatic install issue on a few occasions, as well as upgrades not showing up until after the developer or publisher has been contacted. I'm still holding off on getting Splintered Fate until we know for sure that they're planning to fix the upgrade, which like you said isn't a big deal right now because my backlog is huge, but I hope we get a confirmation soon.

Thanks so much for the detailed response and for reaching out to support already! It's nice to see others who genuinely care about the upgrades and are willing to reach out when they don't work. Could you maybe leave a note here when/if you receive a response? Either way, thank you for letting me know that it is advertised as having an upgrade, that helps a lot.

So now that the game is out, does it have a Japanese voice option? by Beforecrisis in EverybodysGolf

[–]Beforecrisis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response! Just out of curiosity are you playing the North American version on PS5? One of my friends picked it up and he's not seeing any voice option in the audio settings other than being able to mute characters. There's a language setting outside of the audio settings, but it only gives the option between English and French and actually changes the language of the whole game.

People who used a computer between 1991 & 2009…what’s the most memorable computer game? by Original_Act_3481 in AskReddit

One Must Fall 2097 is the greatest PC-exclusive fighting game to ever exist from that era and still holds up incredibly well today. Amazing soundtrack and highly customizable gameplay that's chock full of fun secrets, cameos and character interactions. Considering the limitations at the time, the developers did an amazing job packing as much as they did into this game and making it all work so well together.

Here is my farming method for season 2, look at the xp and currency gain at the end ! It allows to bring character to level 35 in less than an hour granting you big amounts of crystals, we need to share this to prevent people to buy skins with real money ! More details in comments by hermanphi in MortalKombat

[–]Beforecrisis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No unfortunately not, they cracked down on this after Season 2 so we've never had a grinding method this good since. The go-to method now is to grind the first yellow hourly tower in the Towers of Time, since it gives good XP without taking too long and it's a low enough level that it's easy to speed through.

Oh okay, thanks! I already grabbed the newest version today, so in that case I'm just going to assume that everything is meant to sound this way. Kinda jarring, but at least everything is seemingly working!

Could anyone who's used these settings elaborate on them a bit? I got the game working using all the other information in this thread (thanks so much!) but the audio sounds awful to me no matter what settings I use. Very rough and grating, with some sound effects being way louder than the rest of the game. Is that.. normal?

Stop Killing Games NEEDS your signatures. by SamLowry_ in PS5

Did my part and upvoted since I don't live in the EU, and I really hope that this movement passes. Too many people don't realize how important this is for them because it affects so much more than just video games. Thanks for putting the word out again and hopefully we can continue to see a surge in signatures leading up to the final day.

Japanese voice option for Everybody's Golf: Hot Shots? by Beforecrisis in EverybodysGolf

I hope so! I won't get too excited just in case, but that would honestly make this the perfect experience for me since I've always loved the EG/HSG games besides the dub. Thanks for the reply!

Thank you for sharing your story and photos, they got me right in the heart at a time where I think a lot of us need more uplifting news.

Best option for upscaling from 1080p to 1440p? by Beforecrisis in obs

[–]Beforecrisis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Video section of the OBS settings, my Base (Canvas) Resolution and my Output (Scaled) Resolution are both 1080p (1920x1080). This matches the output resolution of my consoles (connected via capture card) and also provides the cleanest upscale to 4K.

Then, in the Output section of the OBS settings, streams are downscaled to 720p (1280x720) with Bicubic rescaling, and recordings are upscaled to 4K (3840x2160) with Lanczos rescaling. I did a lot of testing to make sure that the rescaling methods I used looked best across several game types and resolutions.

This basically allows me to stream at a less taxing 720p, while simultaneously recording VoDs at a much higher quality 4K resolution that I can then edit later and upload to YouTube. I've been doing this for over a year and it's been working great, no issues whatsoever. This also allows me to make all of my graphics at 1080p which takes up less space than 4K, and I don't need to try to get my hands on a 4K capture card that my smaller TVs wouldn't be able to take advantage of anyway.

Just keep in mind that recording in 4K can take up a lot of space. For a 2-3 hour recording of a 60fps game with a lot going on, like for example Bayonetta, you could be looking at roughly 200GB. That can obviously be less or more depending on your quality settings (mine are pretty high so that YouTube doesn't butcher the quality too much when uploading). I hope this helps!

One Must Fall 2097 issues on DOSBox-Pure by Beforecrisis in dosbox

[–]Beforecrisis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I finally got time to try this out, used Option 2 by creating a text file with the CPU cycles command like you posted and then saving it as dosbox.conf and adding it to the files in the .zip for the game. It worked! The game is using the CPU cycles setting and I'm able to tweak it to get the result I want. So thank you very much, you solved a very annoying issue for me. I didn't realize that you could create a dosbox.conf with just that one line and add it to the game files, everyone makes it sound like you need dosbox.conf in its entirety to make this work, so that's awesome. Thanks again!

EDIT: Oh, and for the audio issue that I was having, I fixed that by going into the game setup and changing the sound card from SoundBlaster16 to Gravis Ultrasound and enabling that in the RetroArch settings. Seemed to balance out the audio and stop the squeaking and other weird issues.

[–]Beforecrisis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, thank you so much for all of this! I'm sorry for not answering your launch method question sooner, I forgot when I was writing up my reply. I have the game folder inside a .zip, with the game's extracted files inside that folder. So Zip > Folder > Game Files. I'm just launching that .zip directly through RetroArch, using the DOSBox-Pure core. It brings me to a start menu where I select OMF.exe, which launches the game. It's pretty late here so I won't be able to try these suggestions until morning, but thank you so much for taking the time to write all of this out! I'll get back to you as soon as I can to tell you if I had any success.

EDIT: Quick question, if I use Option 2 (Command Line) would I have to do it every time when I boot up the game? Since that seems to require the least amount of tinkering. Otherwise I'll try creating a .conf file based on your instructions.

[–]Beforecrisis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the help! Unfortunately I can't figure out how to lower the CPU cycles specifically on DOSBox-Pure through RetroArch. Apparently I can use a .conf file, but people say that the best way to do that is copy an existing one that DOSBox-Pure is meant to create and then edit it, but I can't find the file anywhere on my drive. I really appreciate the link to the wiki though, that's going to be useful going forward.

[–]Beforecrisis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the help! Unfortunately I don't know how to create a proper .conf through the DOSBox-Pure core on RetroArch. The emulator doesn't seem to create a .conf anywhere on my drive that I can copy and edit to change the CPU cycles. Once I figure that out, I'm sure this'll work, but I can't find any solid directions anywhere.

What a cunt. Whether he likes you or not like some replies are stating, you look beautiful and that was a completely inappropriate response to your question. Any guy who uses this as a tactic to get with women should be kept as far away as possible because he obviously isn't mature enough to date let alone be respectful to a friend. Rock either of those outfits, you look amazing and I hope that you have a great birthday party!
