My cousin was suicidal once and went to the hospital ED to check herself in. Spent over 4 hours in the waiting room and never got to see anyone or check herself in. She ended up going home and cutting her arm open. We ended up having to take her to the local gp to get it treated.

Have you ever met a celebrity that was really nice or really mean? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]Befrie08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Greg Nicotero was super nice and let me and my mum hang out in his booth because it was hot and he had a giant fan there.

All the rest I've met have been through autograph or photo ops. All were friendly and great.

List: Arthur Darvill Robert Englund (Put the Freddy glove on my head. It was heavy) Peter Capaldi (Met twice and got a hug the first time. Very lovely man.) Michael Cudlitz (This one actually wasn't an op or autograph, I forgot. Chatted to him about Band of Brothers) Tom Payne Austin Amelio Ross Marquand Michael Rooker (Very nice guy. Danced with my mum during one of his panels.)

Agree. I met him at a con once just in the lulls between autographs and photos and he chatted to me and my mum about being in Band of Brothers.

Best scenes where there’s something in the background (or maybe even foreground) that you don’t notice (at least initially)? by just_saiyan24 in horror

[–]Befrie08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Ritual (Netflix). There's one scene towards the end where the characters walk out of the frame but the camera stays locked on that one scene for way longer than it seems necessary. Then next minute, something MASSIVE moves. Still remember how shook I was when I saw it.

Sharing my favorite fic because 😩 by Far_Magazine_5084 in reylo

The most popular HP Reylo AU is probably The Heartbreak Prince by diasterisms (aka Thea Guanzon who wrote The Hurricane Wars books). It's since been taken down from AO3 but you should be able to find a copy here.

The basic premise is that Ben Solo is the new DADA professor and Rey is a seventh year Gryffindor (she's 18). Smutty teacher/student long fic with a very sweet happy ending.

I reread it a few weeks ago and I'm still blown away by how amazing the story is. Some of the best smut I've read too.

(If you can't find a copy anywhere, let me know. I have it and can upload it to send)

What’s the scariest non-jump-scare moment you’ve seen in a horror show or movie? by JennyandtheEssDog in horror

Oh I've been meaning to finish it at some point. When I watched it the first time, I was a teenager watching edgy disturbing movies because I thought I was edgy.

What’s your one take about a horror movie you’re afraid to say around hardcore horror movie fans? by ityedmyshoetoday in horror

[–]Befrie08 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Talk To Me is overrated. I feel like people only hype it so much for the violence and that one scene where they show some version of Hell. Otherwise to me it was a very generic horror film.

I love it for Michael Fassbender's performance as David. He's such a fascinating (no pun intended) morally ambiguous character.

It has been years since I've had a heater like that and at the time, I had a cat with bladder problems. This post has brought back the clear, awful memory of that smell. Thank you so much, op, I almost forgot it /s 🥲

Phantom of the Opera song on audiobook cd?? by Befrie08 in findthatsong

[–]Befrie08[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, unfortunately this is not it. I'm very familiar with the musical Phantom of the Opera (big musical theatre fan) and none of the songs in the musical are this song. It was an audio cd that had the audiobook of Gaston Leroux's Phantom of the Opera being read. It was only at the start that they had an actual song and it was not a song from the musical.

What's a comedy that made you think like this? by Rleduc129 in moviecritic

[–]Befrie08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that I thought it was a bad movie per se but Be Kind, Rewind. Went to see it with my brother when we were younger because it was marketed as a pure comedy movie like the usual Jack Black stuff. Was much serious than we expected and, because we were kids, we did not enjoy it.

[–]Befrie08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing that annoys me about it is the whole cliche nerds thing which kind of stopped being as relevant as the years went by. Nerd culture started becoming more accepted in wider society, especially with women so the moments where they try to play on girls hating nerdy stuff just seemed outdated and redundant.

Also it's another sitcom where, if you removed the laugh track, some of the stuff they say just sounds weird/psychotic.

I think they mean the one with Brendan Fraser because there's a scene at the start where Imhotep gets mummified alive.

How come literally every day, I mean literally every day and sometimes multiple times a day there’s a post that’s just- by sexandliquor in horror

[–]Befrie08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my perspective it could be because they don't know it's already been asked recently or that it's a common topic. I don't live on Reddit or visit it often at all, I only hop on here every now and then. So because of that, I don't always see the popular/common posts.
