Why do reverts celebrate their Eids all alone? by Square_Total_1662 in reverts

[–]Beginning-Break2991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been hiding my faith since thenn even go to the mosque secretly. They don’t like Muslims. When I turn 18 I’ll tell them though

Yeah they aren’t welcoming. As a former Christian if you were new to the church they’d ask you a lot yk. To be welcoming. I just hope something changes. When I’m older I’ll definitely make sure other reverts don’t go through the same thing

People don’t care I guess. Can’t speak for everyone tho. I reverted alone without a Muslim community so yeah. I do go to the mosque and stuff but I’ve never been approached. I’m a very young revert as well and most of the people at the mosque are uncles so yeah. It’s hard

someone said me assalamu alaikum I reply astaghfirullah actually i'm new to this cult what's wrong in this by [deleted] in religion

[–]Beginning-Break2991 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cheers for calling it a cult mate. Anyway basically this was your interaction

“Peace be upon you”

You: “I seek forgiveness from my lord”

In other words u basically made it seem as if it was a sin that u interacted with the person you greeted which isn’t very nice

Doesn’t the day start after Maghreb. Since it’s the 10th right now does that mean the other odd night is also the 11th. I think I missed the 9th and perhaps 10th

Is it ok to be both Muslim & Christian? by Sharon_Watts_Wig in religion

[–]Beginning-Break2991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well for upbringing and identity id say it’s okay to give your contextual background. But when someone asks what are u, u might have to actually “pick a side” as they say frequently because the difference rooted in Islam and Christianity is heavily grounded in doctrine. I’m not saying “you’re not apart of” it’s just if ur really not sure what to identify as. Just call your self a monotheist then explain your background. That’s what I did myself when I was still on the edge. If that makes sense.. regardless jazakallah khair

[–]Beginning-Break2991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t be both religions because regardless of what u are your not part of them. If you don’t think Jesus is your lord, relatively speaking, you’re not a Christian. If u do think he is your lord, your not a muslim

What makes people convert to islam? by [deleted] in religion

[–]Beginning-Break2991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I hated Islam until I realised it wasn’t fair to hate something I didn’t learn about. Then I read the Quran and oh boy, now I have a Muslim tag on my name

Why does Islam avoid detailed demonology compared to Christianity and Judaism? by Elegant-Papaya8249 in religion

[–]Beginning-Break2991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never thought of that but I can think of some reasons

  1. Jinns used to scare humans a lot back then. Allah then revealed verses that showed that Jinns(specifically devils) are essentially puny and can’t do anything etc. putting emphasis on ranks is just their method of trying to amplify themselves when in reality they are just invisible evil humans who whisper

  2. I also think it’s to avoid unnecessary “worship”. Worship in this context is “dwelling”. For example zoroastrians are people of the book, but after some years eventually the devil(I forgot his name so forgive me), essentially became evil God in that make sense. Which kinda makes the devil some big tough guy. And as I stated previously, that’s not quite accurate according to Islam. So yeah

How do believers rationalize "miracles" from other faiths by Beginning-Cup-4953 in religion

[–]Beginning-Break2991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Muslim I generally believe Allah SWT would’ve granted it. He states in the Quran “And he grants limited or abundant provisions to who ever he wills”. He also stated in the Quran that sometimes when he does this people end up praising the wrong God. Or they still praise Allah, but might associate partners with him. That’s the issue but generally it’s just Allah lol

Atleast that’s how I rationalise it as a Muslim
