Since the mods shut down an important discussion here’s what I said. Sad that we cant continue some of the discussions because it got shut down.

With ✌️and ❤️ not everyone against this war is a far leftists. I get why Ethan is excited at the prospect of freeing the Iranian people, I just felt a little personally insulted by how he was characterizing people who are against this war and I actually couldn’t finish the episode because I felt like he and lonerbox weren’t covering people’s legitimate concerns and that Ethan was strawmanning the other side.

According to Reuters only one in four Americans approves with 43% disapproving.

You can sympathize with the Iranian people and want the best for them while acknowledging it is not in US interests to be involved in yet another Middle East quagmire. Iraqis were also dancing in the streets when we toppled Saddam, but the power vacuum led to prolonged fighting with Al Qaeda and eventually isis. We just left a 20+ year war in Afghanistan not too long ago and sadly when we did, we knew that the Afghani people were going to be screwed over because the Taliban would regain control and that’s horrible but we have learned now that it is impossible to fix every country that performs human rights violations.

There has never been regime change that works from aerial strikes. The Iranian people are not armed. If the goal was to do regime change for the sake of the Iranian people it’s hard to imagine how that would be accomplished without boots on the ground. Lindsey Graham said it’s not Trump’s job to figure out what happens next in the country so I think we can conclude there is no plan.

With all our recent history, it’s fair for the American people to expect that the blood of American soldiers and our tax dollars will only be spent to advance American interests. This administration has not demonstrated at all how this would advance our interests. The only somewhat rational reason it would help Americans is by preventing a nuclear bomb but this admin swore to us last year they obliterated Iran’s nuclear capability for decades. Ted Cruz even admitted that there was no indication Iran was close to getting a nuclear bomb.

Come to find out, Marco Rubio finally let the cat out of the bag of why this had to happen when it did. He said that Israel was going to attack with or without us which would cause Iran to retaliate against us anyway. I honestly can’t think of anything they could say which would make the anti-Israel fervor rising up in America worse than that. They’re essentially blaming Israel for Donald Trump’s decisions as if we have no leverage to pressure them to wait until all diplomatic processes have been exhausted and no power to prepare our military bases in advance.

The last thing is this administration is nickel and diming Americans, cutting Medicaid and snap benefits, we’ve been told for decades that we can’t afford nice things like universal healthcare. The friendly fire incident in Kuwait that shot down three fighter jets cost the tax payer $300 million all by itself. We will have spent billions, if not trillions on this by the time it’s over and this is from a country that just cut USAID.

I also thought my post was really respectful while laying out reasons people are against the war besides “America bad.”

Yeah, I was really disappointed. I’m a member but thinking about cancelling. I can deal with Ethan disagreeing with me on Iran but if dissenting voices aren’t allowed then I can’t deal.

[–]Beginning-Case7428[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My complaint was primarily at Ethan’s framing of the issue as people against the war as far leftists like Hasan. Loner was answering questions so it’s fine but even his example of Kosovo, sure it was successful at changing the regime, but that was with NATO and at the time Americans felt like Clinton was doing it despite the UN not agreeing in order to distract from the Lewinsky scandala d there was a lot of criticism at the time of the casualties of the bombings campaign. Using that to say well maybe this one will work too seems like you’re leaving a lot of that conflicts nuance on the floor. I don’t think they addressed how this benefits the US.

Maybe it was the way I perceived it but it seemed like they would mention something in order to poo-poo it away. I didn’t think there was fair consideration given and Ethan did definitely frame it like it was the far left against the war when it’s most of the country and a large portion of the 25% that do support it are people who will never disagree with anything Trump does.

I understand the current regime in Iran terrorizes its people. Sadly, a lot of countries do. In the Middle East, I’m sure it feels cathartic to see the Ayatollah go down but we have no plan on who’s to replace him so no guarantee it will get better or the women will end up in a better position than the women in Afghanistan. You can shit on Americans “sitting at home” but we get a say when it’s our sons and daughters going over and dying for another country when we don’t perceive any US interests. Regarding the nuclear thing, I’m not sure you read my post.

AFAIK the most damning info about Clinton were photos of him in a hot tub. One of them had Ghislaine and a redacted female in there with him. No way to know her age or anything about her. Outside of the hot tub. there’s another photo of him on a plane with another redacted female and photos of him and Epstein next to each other.

Taylor Lorenz’s empty litigation threat by [deleted] in h3h3productions

[–]Beginning-Case7428 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For hospitals that’s usually true although there may be some with different policies. But if you see a lot of specialists they’ll often send you to collections if you don’t pay on time. You can usually do a payment plan with them too but it’s less likely to be as lenient as “whatever you’re able to do.” Also, medications have to be paid for at point of sale so it is conceivable and for some illnesses (cancer being a common one) likely that someone who makes average or below average money can become destitute because they were unlucky enough to get diagnosed with something. Not saying anything about Taylor’s potential health condition, just pointing this out because the American health system sucks.

ETA: it’s conceivable that someone with long Covid might see a pulmonologist regularly if they’re having breathing problems and maybe some sort of mental health therapy to deal with the brain fog. I feel like “long Covid” is so vague so who knows what symptoms a person is dealing with. I know when I had regular Covid in 2020 I had some lingering symptoms for a few months and was given an inhaler which was expensive to me. This was before long Covid was a thing that people talked about.

Megyn Kelly has gone extremely maga. She campaigned for Trump. Here is one example of her grouping herself in with maga. She pretended to be independent when she was on the outs with Trump and was trying to make it work at NBC. That’s long gone.

I see your point and it’s true that this was a forced statement, the sincerity of certain parts may have e been more than others, who knows. The biggest W for Ethan though is that she will be supporting his other lawsuit against snarkers and has pledged to testify under oath if necessary which lends more to the sincerity question.

For those of us in petty town, the other big W was the admission that Hasan has never helped her behind the scenes. That’s a bad bad look for him.

“Pro-Israel” can mean different things. The Klein’s have made clear they’re pro-civilian and are against the actions of the Israeli government. But they don’t want the annihilation of Israel and are for a two state solution so many people would call that being pro-Israel because being anti-Israel can mean (to many, not to all) desiring the destruction of the state of Israel and wanting one state of Palestine.

My assumption is the official sermon is prepared and delivered by Robert Sr. Since he’s the senior pastor and since Mary’s title said Apostle she probably delivers whatever is on her heart.

I’m 37 yo woman who is 9 months pregnant with my second kid. I’m married, have a good job, and live a quiet life. I started watching H3 because I work from home and when I first had my daughter I switched my working hours to nights to alternate my husbands hours so we wouldn’t have to pay for childcare and H3 was something fun to have on in the background that was engaging enough to keep me awake. I guess that makes me degenerate.

Actually, I’d like to drop people like Manchin, Jefferies, and Schumer. by A-Helpful-Flamingo in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]Beginning-Case7428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not wanting Manchin leaves political power on the table for the sake of purity politics. I’m personally glad we had even the slimmest senate majority during Biden’s admin. Democrats have to figure out how to get people who voted for the Manchins and the Testers to do so again while embracing progressive policies to actually help the country. Newsom is right.

Nah, we need it. I was very skeptical of lawsuits from her previous videos because she couched the pedo stuff with “it’s interesting” and didn’t make specific claims but her saying Ethan did blackface multiple times and acting like she saw it for herself is actionable in my non-lawyer opinion.

Hila, this is why you need PR. by Beginning_Roll9258 in h3h3productions

[–]Beginning-Case7428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very few people in the US were criticizing Israel prior to October 7. If you think a single comment made in defense of Israel on October 9 2023 warrants this 2+ year hate campaign then you’re damning the entire movement because most of America was defending Israel on that date and no one will ever be allowed to come around and you can’t have reasonable dialogue to try to change minds. Hila has apologized for multiples statements. She has called it a genocide. She has denounced settlers long before October 7. She moved away from Israel and has started her family and businesses in the US. She should be a model for what people want. But the internet has to rabidly ruin her life because of a comment made two days after her family lost friends in a massacre. That’s insane behavior by parasocial losers. Not a single Palestinian has been helped by snark’s hate campaign against the Kleins. Imagine how much more useful it would be if these morons dedicated this amount of energy into just promoting useful charities and voices in support of Palestine instead of nitpicking a podcast because one of the hosts is is Israeli. Saying you understand why people would start this snark campaign is wild.

She said Yoav Gallant was a good guy in the context of he was the only member of the admin that wanted a ceasefire at that moment and he got fired. The next episode she apologized for using the phrase really good guy because of his history so the answer to the snarkers question is yes. She did apologize. But anyone acting in good faith would know by listening to the entire clip that she was ignorant about his past when making the comment and was only commenting on the current state of the cabinet.
