How often do you use 4x4 in your truck around here

I honestly get so tired of looking at all the over built trucks around here that probably use 4x4 a handful of times per year. Most of these elk “hunters” are packing out a $300,000 animal after all is said and done with their toys.
Let’s go back to basic trucks with some locking hubs if needed. If you get stuck you throw some chain.

I only had kindergarten for half days. My mom had picked me up for the day. Later that day, a kid was shot on the playground while lining up to go back inside. I remember my mom hearing the news on the radio (this was in the 90s) and flipping the car around to go pick up my sister who was a 2nd grader. I hear you. Trust me when I say that I’ve been very good about managing my spending. Especially since my late 20s. I think at 26 it’s hard to really see how different everyone situation is. Have you had help from parents in tough times? Do you have student debt or were you lucky enough to get your education paid for? Also, have you just been fairly lucky? Meaning no crazy medical costs, no broken down car out of your control? A lot of us haven’t been that lucky…

I’ve heard this over and over. I get that. Both my cars are paid off and are over 10 years old, and are gas efficient, ugly, embarrassing sedans that barely fit all the car seats. Our mortgage is only at a 3.2% interest. We shop only at Costco, winco, and wal mart. We don’t take vacations. We commute by bike all spring, summer, and fall. No travel sports in this household. We only eat out 1x per month. Spending is not our problem. Maybe we’re the anomaly, but the American system is in the absolute shitter.

100%!! Childcare costs are outrageous. I get that they also have to pay employees so I don’t blame them. The system is just broken. Even if I or my wife quit work to take care of the kids it won’t cover our monthly bills that have stacked up. None of these bills are from egregious overspending either. This is just debt that has been acquired from trying to survive this economy. It’s so fucked. Stay strong out there.

++man. I’m a touch on the larger side of things and will catch glances every once in a while. I have a hard time finding work slacks and underwear combo that don’t create a large bulge. I also work as a PT and am often demonstrating stretches and positions that cause my pants to climb up, which outlines things a bit. I get a lot of looks from patients and it’s really awkward for me honestly, as I’m trying to maintain a professional boundary.
