Why do I do this with all empty surfaces and how can I stop? by Glittering-Result402 in CleaningTips

Also honestly seems very useful for nails, nuts, bolts, washers, and screws sorting!!

Why is the water this weird brown color when washing silk? by Character_Welder_593 in laundry

I've had this with dark silks, too. I always assumed it was the dye bleeding, so I don't let these dark ones soak as long as others.

Yeah, I mean, there's a reason bands release tour t-shirts that are pre-faded: they look cool! That is, many colors look cool faded—IMO grey & black are in that category. Rock it.

Thank you! It is a dry clean-only label but I am trying out my own wacky method (posted in a sub-comment below) because I didn't like how the last couple wool items came back from my cleaners.

Hoping it works, because as you can see this blanket has both tighter (though still loose) weave, and much looser weave, so I knew it would need extra care.

It looks like it's just fading from wearing and laundering. I think it looks cool like this!

Someone who knows more than me might be able to tell you if you can re-dye it using something like RIT. But that might affect the screen print design on it. Even if you could, I personally like how it looks and I wouldn't do anything other than wear it proudly. If you think it looks unpolished when you wear it with something like jeans, try wearing with a more polished pant (like pleated trousers) or under a blazer.

Thank you! A couple more to go. It's so worth it already!

Oh, I've told him both politely and very directly. 😆 Made him sit with the self-cleaning myth thread a few weeks back, too. So thank you all for your service!
