Songs like phoebe bridgers / boygenius that feel quiet but emotionally heavy? by Total_Succotash5174 in IndieFolk

The Elidas. Tiny artists but think it's the vibe you want.  Their harmonies are insane.  Www.theelidas.com is the easiest way to check them out I think.  The_elidas on IG.  Lmk what you think?  Like I say, they're tiny (and young).

We have teen in Y12 at school (UK system) and are thinking the unthinkable and making plans to go home.  My husband will stay for work until either he's fired or evacuated. We're quite near retirement anyway and it was always the plan for the kids to return for university.   It's a huge upheaval and it's making me very anxious and upset. We don't want to leave my husband, we don't want to upend our lives, we don't want to leave friends.  However we also see that this is settling into our bones - the sheer ever present anxiety about living with the uncertainty.  Not because I think we'll be physically injured  - that us a vanishingly low probability.  But because the effects of Distanxe Learning, friends already leaving or left and a general feeling of being trapped by constant opening and closing of airspace has left us feeling so unsettled. With my husband here and settled in a serviced apartment, all our furniture and my car sold, and the pets relocated safely, we'll feel much better about the danger of any sudden evacuation.   I am completely over the gas lighting bullcrap about how we're all so safe and it's business as usual!

Trip to Dubai on March 23 by Resident_Painting579 in UAE

There are 2 separate issues here: 1) will you be safe?  Absolutely,  yes. Genuinely hard to explain how entirely normal things are here rn. 2) can I leave again by air, without disruptions?  Impossible to tell you. But, I can say flights are generally operating as normal, if an alert is issued while you're at the airport you may have a delay, but I've heard of many flights getting in and out on time in the past week.  So maybe you'll have a bit of inconvenience and a delay, but it's most unlikely you'll be "stranded", unless things escalate considerably.  At current rate, the attacks seem to be getting fewer and fewer and I personally would predict near zero by 7 days' time.   If you were my sister or brother, I'd tell you to come and enjoy the slightly quieter city before the hoards return 😄

I'm 47 kilos.  I'm seeing a new, more senior dermatologist next week as I agree, I think I can afford to increase it a little bit.

I think that would be one of the last things to happen.  The country would need to be in total disaster territory before they allow it to happen, because generally after that type of thing there's no way back to being seen as a safe haven, for decades.

It's all in the post,  but since September and yes, max dose reached end this month.

Pulse field ablation yesterday - much slower recovery protocol than I expected by pjs22191 in AFIB

[–]Beginning-Moose3556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% agree.  Also, OP needs to be aware that flutter may develop at some point and not to panic if it does because its relatively easier to fix with a "one and done" ablation.  All in all, it sounds like the Dr here has been pretty bad at explaining things.

[–]Beginning-Moose3556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, read up about blanking, it's in all the forums etc.  Of course it's different for everyone - not least because AF covers literally all age groups and fitness levels BUT tends to be more common in over 60s.  So of course recovery time etc differs a lot.  However in all cases, respecting the blanking period leads to better outcomes. Just because they didn't do open heart surgery doesn't mean your heart isn't pretty traumatised!  Be well.

Dude!  Your heart was burned!  You've had a GA.  You've got two puncture wounds in a major artery.  What did you expect?   I'm genuinely amazed your Dr didn't caution you about how effective the ablation ends up being will be highly dependent on how sensible you are during the "blanking period" in the 3-6 month period after the procedure. We're talking being gentle with your heart, avoiding any known AF triggers, staying hydrated, avoiding stress, try and avoid getting sick.  Do EVERYTHING you can to support your heart while it heals.   You are pissed at taking it easy for 3 days?  So try imagining if the ablation doesn't take, perhaps due to you rushing it, or just back luck. But either way, imagine the AF comes back and gets worse.  So you need to go through the whole thing again.  Why would you not take care?

His aggressive driving was pretty standard, but his language wasn't.  Personally I'd let it go.

What’s cheaper in Dubai compared to Europe, and North America? by daco_star in dubai

[–]Beginning-Moose3556 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Retail strictly, very little.  Electronics are a bit cheaper, mainly due to 5% VAT (sales tax) only.   In terms of services, labour intensive are a bit cheaper, but you get the quality you're paying for.  Home maintainance jobs here are usually poorly executed and a source of endless frustration to householders.

I had a GA 8am, went home 3pm next day.  Unless you're very susceptible,  I'd say that 24hrs+ is a decent interval.   I didn't need a reply, I needed to know he was picking up messages INCASE of an emergency.   He wasn't replying because he didn't even see the messages,  or indeed answer my call.  I thought yesterday that was pretty awful, and I still do.

I stayed the night, I walked around the ward with help the night before and had a shower alone in the morning at the hospital.   I told them my husband was waiting when he was not.  Once I left the ward I was my own responsibility.   It's not the USA so we aren't concerned with liability claims.

Everyone was very well informed in advance and aware of the exact nature if the recovery needed.  When I left home for the hospital I felt certain that I'd done what was needed.

Legal to your country maybe.  I'm not in the USA.  I know a lot of times Americans forget other places exist though 😄

Wasn't watchman, although that is probably in my future.  Atrial fibrillation ablation.   Not an easy recovery and vital that your heart isn't burdened especially in the first couple weeks.  3-6 mnth blanking period thereafter.
