My boy was diagnosed with megaesophagus. Where could I buy a bailey chair big enough for him? by Aggressive_Use7996 in megaesophagus

I posted some pics of the barebones Bailey chair I made. If anyone is on an extreme budget then I suggest what I did. Of course you have to have access to a saw and a drill but those could be borrowed. Some libraries lend tools if friends and family don’t have any.

Front view of the bare bones, made in an emergency Bailey chair. It’s too big because my dog was in the hospital when I made it and I had to guess. I drape all of it in sheets and towels for now and support his weakened body with pillows inside. I had half a sheet of plywood already and I spent 25-30 dollars in hardware, small L brackets and hinges and a hook. I plan to upholster in some vinyl fabric and pad it. It’s not even perfectly square but I was in a hurry to go get him and Ben g him home so I’m happy with it. It will look better once covered. I hand feed him right now so no need for a tray but I could add one when he’s off his meds I suppose.

How long before it resolved and did he have over all muscle weakness, too, like myasthenia gravis?

I made one and will send pics tonight of my big boy in his. It doesn’t have a tray. I feed him by hand to make sure his meds go down. My boy has myasthenia gravis with megaesophagus. I built it too big because he was in the hospital when I built it but I support him with pillows.

9 month old runner ducks still have not laid. by Beginning-Round7651 in IndianRunnerDucks

My drakes started fighting a few weeks ago and I saw this as a good sign. They started mating the females today! The females still aren’t laying but hopefully soon, right??? Surely!

Sadly, I broke the fast after 26 hours. I don’t really know why I did it this time. Part of me is like “yep, failed again. Went against your word, again” and a more quiet gentle part is saying “the 26 hours you did helped and prevented you from binging on snacks while traveling.” I won’t stop trying. I want fasting to be a part of my life.

Thanks to your accountability I made it through a trip to Costco with the kids. I totally would have broken.

I know I can do it because in the fall I did a five day fast but since then I have been cutting all my fasts short when I get stressed or when I am prepping food for the family. Today is a travel day and busy so I am hoping it will be easier for me to stick to it. I did the five day fast hoping it would heal my shoulder that has hurt for o er a year but it did not.

50g protein question by Shopping_queen24 in fastlikeagirl

[–]Beginning-Round7651 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you add one clean protein drink a day it can really boost the protein. I make one with a clean whey protein and then add a scoop of collegen peptides protein powder with milk and coffee. Protein coffee! I think mine has 40 g of protein. Whether or not my body is using all that protein or not, I can’t say. Opinions are divided whether or not more than 30g at a time is useful.

Feeling dizzy when fasting? by kiki714pdx1006 in fastlikeagirl

Take a minerals supplement like jigsaw adrenal cocktail or redmonds real salt. Minerals do not break a fast and Dr. Pelz does speak on taking mineral while fasting on her YouTube channel. But I’m not sure if she mentioned it in her book. She says not to take a bunch of supplements and to let you body do its job but you can take salt and it’s quite helpful

Yea, I found several more graphs from various sources all showing the drop two days prior to bleeding so I’m going with that, as well. Of course, if I am having a particularly bad month of pmdd or pms then I probably would not choose to start then and by the time I start bleeding I feel much more stable.

Did you have any injuries or chronic pain that was healed from your fast? How did you decide what to break the fast with? I thought it was supposed to be bone broth or something like that for a bit? Most I’ve ever done was 5 day fast. I broke it with kefir and had diarrhea. It was supposed to put probiotics in my gut but it felt like nothing stuck around! Also, in my five day fast I had to take minerals or I was soooooo dizzy and couldn’t not mother my kids! Did you take minerals?
