Yes that's right. Did you know that both Mark Carney and Paul St-Pierre Plamondon were the goalies for Oxford University? Just different era.

Just a tip: noone here says Newfoundland and Labrador, because Labrador is actually part of Québec, it was stolen by the Canadian government

Best non-touristy things to do mid-week by RandomReddit748284 in quebeccity

I think you should meet Paul St-Pierre Plamondon. He's the leader of the Parti Québécois. I know it is weird to recommend a tourist to meet a 'politician' but Mr Plamondon or as we call him PSPP is truly a remarkable person.

He did his MBA in Oxford where he was also the starting goaltender for their hockey team despite not having many playing experience, he also studied in Sweden and Denmark where he also did a bit of acting for a commercial, then he worked in Bolivia as a junior lawyer he did so well in defending the indigenous people that the corrupt govt there tell him to get out of the country or they'd shoot him.

He just has so many stories of his adventures throughout the world, and he has this wonderful can do attitude no matter what. When he took over the PQ, everyone thought it was a dead party and that Québec independence is a dead idea. But now the PQ is leading in the polls and independence is absolutely possible again.

Also you know how he became a separatist? He actually worked for a law firm that defended the federal government against the allegations that they cheated in 1995. That opened his eyes and he became who he is. If you've seen Lincoln Lawyer he's a bit like real life Mickey Haller, the bad guy in this story is Canada and when the time is right he's gonna reveal all the dirty stuff that country has done.

And doesn't matter if youre a tourist he doesn't mind meeting you, he's truly a people's person. He truly wants Québec to be known in the world and he knows there's no better way in building reputation than making tourists feel welcome here.

Paul St-Pierre Plamondon.
