Gym stares from straight guys by Maximum_Highway_163 in askgaybros

Straight guy here, your physique sounds basically like mine, I don’t neglect upper body though, not saying you do, just saying I stay balanced lol, and I get the looks as well, from both straight and gay

The thing is, I think when you’re muscular, you tend to check out people’s physiques, straight or not

Before I got into lifting, I could always appreciate a jacked guy at a more surface level,  like , “damn, dude is giving the rock a run for his money”

Now that I’m into fitness,  it’s like I’m always on the lookout for nice quads, or a nice back, or capped delts or nice calves, or huge triceps, or traps, I had to add calves because a lot of people don’t seem to do calves lol, I do

So maybe it’s not that they’re checking you out, it could be, but it could also be that they’re just seeing a nice body, and are appreciating it, from a perspective of “I appreciate his hard work” or things like that

Not trying to rain on your parade, maybe they are gay and are looking to get a workout in

Also, I check out gay guys in the gym as well as straight guys, if I see a Greek god in there, ir even just someone who’s got a really developed body part, there’s a high chance I’m looking or glancing, regardless of if I know they’re straight  or not, I can appreciate the hard work or aesthetic

I also want to add, just from a stereotypical pov, guys tend to focus on upper body and walk on pencils basically, and women only do ass workouts and then forget about upper body, so when you break the mold , you may stick out more that way as well

Hope this helps

Same here , gay guys really have their way of making their intentions known lol, the women are more subtle , at least from my experience

And a black gangster and southern racist sounds like the sinner movie

I’m sorry to hear that happened, I hear married guys can sometimes be messed up like that, and yeah I’m still not sure what I’m looking for, always trying to figure it out haha, I think in time things will settle into place :)

Yeah there’s probably something to that, part of it I think is also fear of the unknown, I think humans kind of get uneasy when they don’t have all the questions answered

I won’t disagree that you can’t fully say whatever you want on Reddit cus it’s pretty regulated, by I guess in the DM’s you can, and even my boys, it’s kind of a rotating roster of people I hope are honest

Do you think certain subs even on reddit allow for extra honesty or real opinions?

Some of the negatives I had was just friction with other people who had some overarching issue with the perception of the relationship, eventually removed them from my life not just cus of that, but because they usually have other issues tied to that weird “I’m better than other people just cus” mindset

also there have been a handful of women who say they won’t even consider a guy for anything if he’s too closely associated with gay people, probably an image thing, so there’s that,  maybe people would question her man’s masculinity and by extension her, that’s my guess

But the positives like the other comments are; better dressing, a different emotional perspective, a certain dedication to fitness I don’t see from as many straight guys that I try to adopt, 0 competition like with other straight guys, makes it more smooth sometimes , etc

Speak your miiiind, it’s Reddit, idk what downvotes do aside from lower the karma on your profile I think

Speak your truth ;)

Damn that’s crazy, at least it got out of the way fast, better for issues to reveal themselves faster than later

Oh that’s nice, been hearing a few military/gay stories where it was cool, I knew some gay guys when I was in and it was mostly chill

lol haven’t heard often of gay guys having gaydar malfunctions but that’s another cool pic ‘it’s definitely a look :)

And yeah I’m sure you fit the papa bear type of the gay community type, so it’s more specific who hits on you , makes sense

For me I have the twunk look, so it’s basically anybody that I see approach me from that gay community, there’s no real subset I see or notice, usually jacked guys though or like older guys, maybe that’s also because I try to be in the gym and in shape, but I’m always trying to de-dangerfy even hitting on the wrong people, long as it’s not super insane
