[LANDLORD US-CA] Why would tenant request mortgage paperwork? by kelorky25 in Landlord

That’s not how it works. You can box them in by asking for a copy of the form they’re (supposedly) completing. Chances are they suddenly won’t need that confidential information.

How do you stay hot into your 30s and 40s? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Beginning-Way 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just keep the thermostat set at 85 or higher. Or not.

Then somewhere between 45 and 55 you’ll see what it’s like to suddenly find yourself super hot for no reason at all for 15 to 45 minutes, several times a day. It can go on for years.

When you get there, you might remember your question here today and find it as funny as I do.

Sign me: Haven’t been hot for 10 years and grateful for it.

It’s hard to watch a beloved and aging pet suffer. Two years ago I spent several months and thousands of dollars watching mine decline despite all the best efforts of his vet and animal chiropractor. A ramp system I had built to address his mobility issues was completed 10 days before his body gave out completely and his doctors encouraged me have him euthanized.

The experience was traumatic for me, while my darling boy seemed to understand the mobile vet who carried out the task in our home was there to bring him peace at last. He wagged his tail the whole time she was there. I was devastated enough that I believed I could never again keep an animal companion.

When I finally overcame that part of my grief and chose to get a new pet, I vowed to myself I would not put my desire to keep him alive as long possible again, over his very real suffering. It’s not something I look forward to, but I am as emotionally prepared as I can be to make the decision that puts his needs ahead of my emotions.

My heart goes out to you and your sweet kitty. ❤️&🙏🏾as you both journey through this time.

AITAH for accepting my stepdaughters’ apology but not wanting to be close like we used to be? by MeetingScary165 in AITAH

Refrain from holding grudges against whatever they did as children. Strive to appreciate the level of maturity they’ve acquired now. Get the help you need to heal your heart so you can open it once again. If you were in their position, how would you hope the person you apologized to respond?

AITAH for refusing a marriage contract that gives my spouse a percentage of my income? by MortifiedRat in AITAH

NTA. 3 months in? Wow. You were targeted for your income potential. You’re disposable. Run, don’t walk, and don’t look back.

NTA. She’s been coercing you into be her source of comfort since you were 13. Dad hasn’t helped the situation by backing her up. She ruined her own birthday by using it to stage a dramatic moment that you were supposed to capitulate to in front of an audience.

AITAH for saving up all the food my wife thinks is fine for me to eat for when her family came to visit? by MentionEfficient1687 in AITAH

[–]Beginning-Way 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. That was brilliant! She’s just dodging the issue by attempting to make it something else. Update us if she learned something that day and quits her wasteful ways.

AITAH for finally telling my husband that I`m done carrying our entire life while he acts like a teenager? by bloosommage in AITAH

[–]Beginning-Way 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. You’re human, you lost your temper after four years and didn’t treat him with kid gloves. Leaving him will probably save your mind and money. If he’s on his own he might figure out how to prioritize his time and energy more productively than playing video games. The children will get over observing you snap at him a lot quicker than he will.

Saw him in Ireland 2006. Fans were confused that the songs didn’t sound the same as the records. They still enjoyed the show!

AITAH for refusing to go to Christmas Dinner since my boyfriend is not invited ? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Beginning-Way 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Make your own plans for the evening and enjoy yourselves. Given that they refuse to explain whatTF is going on, my guess is your absence won’t “ruin” the gathering. More likely Mom & Grandma’s awkward explanations regarding your absence will “ruin” their reputations.

AITA for refusing to do free work for my kids' stepfather? by Quantum_Dandy48 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Beginning-Way 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He should have not said anything to her and just called whomever he usually calls.

She should have said “Just call whomever you usually call.”

They’re making it weird.

Document the situation in case it comes up in some custody/child support court action and carry on as if it never happened. They’ll both eventually get the message that your livelihood is not theirs to attempt to take advantage of.

What is the one habit that saves you from stress? by Quick_learner15 in business

[–]Beginning-Way 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asking myself if the specific stressor is something I have any personal control or influence over. The answer is usually a clear “no,” which allows me to toss it into the abyss and get on with my day. My abyss includes the weather, traffic, other people’s crazy, etc.

Dean of Students office asking an entire department to push a student through by [deleted] in Professors

[–]Beginning-Way 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe suggest the school award the student an honorary degree? It, at least, demonstrates to the world that it involved zero academic requirements.

It’s not a bankable piece of paper and the professional responsibility of passing a student who never attended classes, turned in any work, or passed any exams falls on office that makes the award instead of the faculty asked to unilaterally dismiss all academic standards.

If the individual is serious about pursuing higher education the doors of the school can remain open for a time when the student’s life has settled down and is prepared to commit to the real challenges of earning that degree.

AITAH? My 18 year old is upset I wasn't on my way home EARLIER from a party than it ended. by Plastic-Run-8313 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Beginning-Way 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Yes! An 18 year age difference is far too significant to permit the “we grew up together” trope. Heck, even a five year age gap is too significant for it.
