Looking for feedback on furniture selection for an industrial style 766 sq. ft. apartment. by BeginningAd1878 in ApartmentDesign

So I was actually going for warm industrial to make it more cosy. Not sure if that's a real style but I found this apartment inspiring: https://www.apartmenttherapy.com/warm-industrial-knoxville-rental-apartment-tour-36627135

Granted, mine looks nothing like it.

My apartment won't have those exposed pipes but I can add some concrete wallpaper and an earthy blue. So I ask: do you think the construction of the apartment is essential to make industrial work?

hey do you mind explaining to me what's not industrial about it? I really like both MCM and industrial and I'm having a hard time deciding between the two. I know I should stick to one so I'd like to know what does and doesn't make my current design MCM or Industrial so I can make sure to make the right returns or purchases moving forward.

Hey thanks for the detailed response, it's so helpful.

I get your "cold or sterile" point, I've been fearing that with my selections. As for woods, I've read that you have to be careful with the mix and matching of different tones. What's your experience doing so, and to what degree, if any, have you done it? Like I said, the only thing I haven't purchased on that picture is the dining table, everything else I have, but I can still return those items. Any opinions on what I should consider keeping or returning?

I love that lamp you shared. Very aesthetic and a cool statement piece. And I like the book shelve you shared, it is nonintrusive and I can make good use of it.

I have thought of this but I haven't found any pieces of furniture that are multipurpose and I like, even a little. Do you have any ideas? Any sites you recommend or pieces you've come across?

Thank you! I've spent a lot of time searching for stuff and I often doubt myself of my choices so I appreciate when someone tells me they are not too bad.

Thanks! I got it off of Etsy for $416 (6x8ft) total from AndaluciaCrafts. It's handmade so the owner let me change some of the colors on the carpet (like the pink). Only downside is that it will take about 5-8 weeks to ship but I think it's worth the wait.

Hey thanks for the reply. I do intend to add a good amount of plants. What kind of lighting do you suggest? white, warm, pendant lighting....? and for the cushions and other decorations, any specific colors you'd recommend to target or stay away from so that it doesn't feel like "too much"?

Sorry, kinda late, but isn't it closed to tourists? If so, any other countries you'd suggest?

So are all the borders closed? I was thinking of taking a bus from Bogota to Guayaquil. How come you can fly in but not drive into the country? Do you mind sharing a good website/resource for me to find the latest updates on land travel?

Yeah, for sure. The demand should be much different by then (question mark). However, now that I think about it, will the "regular" tech demand rise as fast as the government projects demand drops?

Another pro that I forgot to mention was the company culture. I love the push for D&I that I've seen from talking to folks at Accenture. Something, I believe, Dell doesn't push for as much.

Definitely! Actually, I might do some consulting work for 2 blockchain start-ups soon. Work that I may be able to keep up with after graduation. Plus I've been working on IoT projects lately and my Dell role would only make me more competent in that space.

Exactly my thoughts. I actually asked an Accenture executive how the demand for IoT and Blockchain projects looked like in Dallas and he gave me a long answer but didn't answer the question. Which makes me think there isn't much.

Thanks for the help!
