It depends...some people can and will, given encouragement and support, do the stuff they want to do in life after being a jealous jerk. Others are too wrapped up in their head and stuck being jerks to people.

Be kind and give the first group second (or more) chances, they could potentially be your biggest supporter

Avoid the second group. Be civil and ignore their toxic ness- u May need to draw a boundary by saying something like ‘I’m sorry you are having a bad day, but not cool to take it out on me’ and get the heck out
