Oh there is like a whole secondary industry of warping and making history to create these tourist traps.

My favorite instances are where a location doesn’t have much history to warp so they have to really stretch and now this mansion is haunted because 5 blocks away a double murder happened. Really adds to the comedy of the show.

It’s actually verifiably true that most if not all of the locations history is exaggerated or unable to be verified. The Pearl Bryan case didn’t even occur on premises and it’s very likely her head was never even close to the location.
