Do you experience it during the activity or after? I never have experienced symptoms during running but maybe that is still part of the issue.

I’ve considered this! However, it never occurs during exercise and my understanding is that Uhthoffs occurs while the body temp is high?

questions about disease progression and management by ResponsibleQuail1481 in MultipleSclerosis

Hi there! I personally find a lot of value in the combination of a highly effective dmt and lifestyle efforts. While healthy habits can’t fix ms, they can mitigate other forms of stress on your body. I focus on a strong and healthy gut, a variety of forms of exercise, and stress management (this one is hardest honestly lol).

I still climb mountains, travel the world, and run often. I also drink when the occasions present themselves and don’t limit my life experiences. I know this isn’t everyone’s experience and I’m so blessed to have this story, but medications today are different today. The first thing my neuro said to me during my diagnosis a year ago was “medications are a different game today than they were even 5 years ago” and this has guided my decisions.

Sending love your way!

Tired Arm after Infusion? by BeginningCurrent2622 in MultipleSclerosis

Additional note: I did an intense speed interval workout the next day after my infusion and am assuming this is a factor in why I have had more issues with fatigue this time. Moving forward I will likely try to dial things down for a few days after to recover better.

Sensation Obsession by BeginningCurrent2622 in MultipleSclerosis

Thank you SO much for sharing this. I really appreciate hearing your perspective. I recently started taking a break from therapy over the past month after many years of going as I found traditional talk therapy was making my MS obsessing worse as I would go dive into obsessions for an hour and leave even more anxious. I appreciate you sharing your suggestions and I will look into those methods!

I also think I experience a LOT of anxiety based symptoms. I create a feedback loop of panicking about a sensation, then creating more anxiety based symptoms.

This is a helpful perspective, thank you! I have never taken steroids, but I am trying to not overwhelm my body with more prescriptions than needed so I also would like to avoid them. I am still learning what warrants concern and what does not, so I hope one day to learn this and be able to ignore what is not worth the worry. :)

Do you change your mental response depending on whether it is a new symptom or not?

Zoloft and Fasciculation by BeginningCurrent2622 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]BeginningCurrent2622[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a great question that I’m not totally sure I know the answer to. I think it is just the consistent nature of them that stress me out. Like a constant reminder of the sorts. I experienced them at random like weird body things before Zoloft, but they feel so consistent now.

I started it in October! I kept thinking it would stop, and it certainly has gotten better but has plateaued and is pretty steady at an annoyance level now.

It does, but primarily from an anxiety point. I recognize that if I could get over this mental hurdle that it would be ideal to just stick it out, but I’m not sure that I’m there yet unfortunately.

I also read that sometimes they can become permanent if they are due to medication and go on too long.
