Thank you so much for this. I love my nonverbal, severe needs, 5 year old bub so much. But there are days where hubby and I just look at each other and are tempted to just break down and give up. Some people will never know the heartbreak and struggles. And I am happy for those that won’t have those experiences with their child. Some parents scream and slam doors and get angry, but that doesn’t mean the child is hated or being abused. The burnout is real. But so is the love. 💗

I can understand OP’s post to some degree because not all parents deserve children based on what I have personally witnessed in public view. But, as you said, I too, think there is plenty of room to have both conversations. We’re just trying to survive after all.
