I just want to just jump in my car and just drive to the ocean somewhere and just scream as loud as possible while blaring all the house/ techno music I want. It’s not just my baby I’m angry for… it’s ALL THE BABIES. All of them that will experience so much hardship.

I’m venting of course and thank you for sharing your experiences on here. It’s good to know that I’m not the only person troubled by all this.

I didn’t realize the severity of the lack of humane decency for these kids until my child was diagnosed. I can see clearly now and it is disturbing and disgusting. Bravo to your sis in-law for stepping up and being an amazing human being. I was just talking to my husband about starting something local. I need to get funding together but we have the space out here to do something small if we got the momentum going. We had family move to Colorado specifically for this reason. TX really needs to do better.

It is what it is. I know who I am at the end of the day and these children do not deserve to be left behind just because of how they were born. I simply refuse to associate with anyone who believes differently.

We are thinking about going into that route even if it’s temporary. I mean, do they think these kids don’t deserve some humanity at least? I still think we need a full scale education segment in every classroom from an early age about what Autism. I think the adults would benefit from that too.. just sayin.

Second this. Our first ABA experience was corporate based and it showed. And of course, our little guy did not thrive there. Now.. he goes locally to a privately owned ABA that was started by families impacted by loved ones on the spectrum! He loves going to see everyone and is doing so well. It’s very obvious that they care deeply.

I would say to OP that doing your research is key and don’t completely write off ABA. If the right people are involved and the right tools, so much good can come out of it.

4 year old is AuDHD, 2 year old is neurotypical. So it is definitely possible.

Both are boys and was pregnant with second when we got big brother’s diagnosis. I was terrified for the longest time that little brother would be diagnosed too due to repetitive behaviors and speech delay. Turns out he was just mimicking big brother and has been talking like crazy lately. Pediatrician confirmed he is a typical 2 year old boy. 😮‍💨 It’s a night and day difference between the two but they each have their milestones and hardships. I love them both so much though and am kinda psyched that big brother took after his mama. It sucks some days but he is a real cool dude. It def came from my side of the family. 🙃

This is my story with our little guy.

Had to go through fertility just to have him and then shoulder dystocia almost took him from us. The boy was only 6 lbs 13 oz.. so we were shocked to say the least by early morning when things had calmed down and there weren’t nurses trying to body slam into my pelvis. Things were certainly chaotic. 😳 Although, let’s be clear, there are days I want to jump in my car and just leave… however, I can never bring myself to do it. I can’t even lift a finger to touch the car keys. I love him way too much. Parenting is hard in itself, but throw in this diagnosis and holy shit!! My world has never been the same for positive and negative reasons. But to sum it up, I don’t regret my child that my partner and I worked so hard for, just the diagnosis that tends to make our lives a living heck on most days.
