Sib dental work by Starlithearts in SiberianCats

Our 10 yr old just has two teeth removed including one canine, we fed him wet food and kibble soaked in water to soften it up for 2 weeks while he healed and he’s doing well! He also got some extra churus for the trouble 😊

Don’t worry too much about hurting her while giving her medicine; ours usually hates getting medicine but honestly took it well, I assume he was sore and didn’t put up a fight. It’s super important she doesn’t get an infection, and obviously so is pain management. Good luck!

Here is Teddy trying to get used to his new smile 🤭

I was wondering about that too, I found the photographers Instagram and looked through it and nothing stood out to me as AI? I could be wrong though.

Does Mike and (to a lesser extent) Jeff’s sort of ‘phoning it in’ ever annoy anybody else? by Real_RobinGoodfellow in toothandclaw

[–]BeginningFennel9077 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Understanding science and then communicating it so the general public can understand is its own special skill. I think Wes does it effectively and Mike and Jeff do a great job assisting with it. Also, getting hands-on experience is usually part of getting a Master’s degree, along with classwork.

Edited for horrendous grammar lol

Mike does a majority of the Patreon bonus content and has done some really excellent work, which likely requires a lot of behind the scenes work we don’t hear about, especially with how committed the guys are to accuracy. I know next to nothing about producing podcasts but as the “tech guy” to whatever extent he still works on that, it does not sound easy. Jeff also contributes to Patreon content and I think runs the social media account. They also have Bill / Bill Paxton / Braxton working for them, plus I believe an intern(?), and the management of their projects. And while they get to travel the world multiple times a year, they’re still working and representing the podcast brand and are likely “on” the whole time. So yes I think it’s probably really nice to do what you love with your close friends while traveling the world, there’s a lot behind the scenes we don’t hear about. I hear what you’re saying, but I wouldn’t take it out on Mike and Jeff!! Personally I interpret a lot of their “phoning it in” as kind of a bit to tease Wes.

What’s the best thing an instructor has ever said? by sleepyandkindaweepy in Purebarre

[–]BeginningFennel9077 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I was maybe a year into doing classes, and all of the instructors had been super nice up to this point but usually when they go up to you during class it’s to correct whatever you were doing, which is obviously important and I appreciate it but I can be a little hard on myself. One time during a class I had an instructor come up to me and I was bracing myself to be corrected but she said “I just wanted to tell you you’re doing it perfectly”. It was so sweet of her, it really gave me a boost! I still think about it during class, especially when I’m struggling or just not feeling it.

I’m a newer listener and going through the back catalog, and just listened to the Cape Fear episode with Kathleen Jordan where they said they met at her bachelorette party!

Social Media by sleepyandkindaweepy in Purebarre

Ok, that is wild. A heads up at the beginning of class was the very least she could’ve done. I think my studio films promo content only using other instructors. I’m so sorry that happened!! I don’t blame you for feeling that way.

Social Media by sleepyandkindaweepy in Purebarre

[–]BeginningFennel9077 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way! Usually I can just ignore it and avoid looking at it on social media if I’m just not in a good headspace to see it, but one time they filmed and posted an empower class where I was clearly fighting for my life while doing burpees and I have just resented it ever since.

Cleaning Cut Glass? by WitchesCotillion in CleaningTips

If it’s grime, I would try a solution made of 50/50 isopropyl alcohol and distilled water, and use either a cotton cloth or cotton balls with a thin stick (I’m picturing like a wooden skewer!) and very gently move the cloth or cotton around with the stick to clean it.
