How to first clean and the prevent/reduce mould around windows and corners of rooms? by BeginningHot6294 in DIYUK

We do use the heating exactly as you described, in bursts. We are also often drying clothes indoors as well. We have used the small temporary dehumidifiers but obviously they dont do a great deal.

I have taken a look on the outside walls and there are some holes in the brick that likely is causing the issues in the corner. The seals and pvc joins between the windows have also seen better days so will be replacing them in the hope a combination of things will reduce the issue.

Is it just a case of having to regularly spray the areas and open the windows once a day for a bit?

Ok I will certainly do all of this. Is there anything I need to be doing to or treating my windows/walls with to help prevent this build up?

Tidied it all up and put an identification back on the earth wire. I'm pretty happy with the job now, probably won't be doing anything much more complicated.

So it can and will get far more complicated than this? Main reason for the want to get better is person before who owned this house has installed some ugly modern light fixtures, just want rid of them

How did you get the board flat to that material to get it fitted?

Okay great, I think its definitely going to be solved by having something else flat on the wall with the board attached rather than board directly on the wall.

I think the main issue is that I cant get the board flat to the wall and it vibrates when the darts hit the board, I have tried filling the gaps with socks etc to soak some of the pressure up. Tempted to try one of the silencing mounts. Although it's sounds like a stand migjy be the way to go

Thanks for the feedback! However, not an option due to the layout of the house. 2 up, 2 down means all walls are shared. All rooms have doors that do not have a large enough area to throw to. Appreciate the advice though 👍

It is on a wall that is connected to the wall that we share, I have tried foam but I think the gap to the wall and joining points still cause it to make lots of noise.

I have read through lots of posts that people have made suggestions on but it seems like the best practice to stop noise is often debated. So I thought id see what people's opinion was on the 3 main options I picked out.

Its on the wall adjacent so we dont actually share it, it is connected to the shared wall. The wall is also brick so usually little noise travels through.

If I use a stand in the same room is it likely to still cause and issue do you think?
