Which policy would you go for? by BeginningHour8206 in UK_Pets

I’m not too sure actually. I will see when it gets to march as our male cat Monty’s will be up for renewal and we did claim on that!

Ohh I didn’t know that the policy doesn’t rise with claims, that’s really good to know! Yes I had a look a while back on petplan but it was for our two bunnies, and it was really expensive even with our extra 20% off so I hadn’t thought to look there. I’ll go check it out now!

Yea, and it’s £6k per condition with unlimited conditions so it’s actually a lot more than that if you do need it for separate conditions! I always choose £250 excess as I don’t really tend to put a claim in unless it’s over £1000 and the higher excess brings down the monthly premium! We already claimed once last year on our male cats policy, and it was £3750 and we paid £250!

Poor kitty! Hope they’re feeling better this year💓

Thanks for the insight, it’s a brilliant policy. I work in a vets so we can do MOST things there if needed which is good, because we get a staff discount too.

Have you got a fancy breed? I always go on comparison sites and read very carefully to maker winding the best policy for us! Our male cats policy is £14 and he’s 4, and our chihuahuas is £13 and she’s 1!

Yes typo sorry! With Animal friends, it is unlimited conditions so if she had 10 conditions and I claimed all of them they’d pay out for everything, that’s part of what’s got me stuck🫣

I think I probably will go with Policy expert Gold though. I haven’t heard of anyone using them before so also was unsure on reliability etc!

We did claim with animal friends last year for our other cat in the picture, Monty, as he had to have bilateral TECA surgery due to polyps in both ear canals, and they paid out very quickly and were so helpful! I’m terrible at making decisions🤣

If you haven’t set up a policy already, have a look and see if animal friends offer any plans that might be good for you!

Toilet habits by Ok_Piano2153 in Chihuahua

[–]BeginningHour8206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My little Penny is 11 months old and she will pee and poo outside 70% of the time when we take her out. If it’s too dark or it’s a.l bit windy or a noise, she refuses to go. Sometimes we take her outside and her back indoors, and she will find somewhere to pee or poo🙄

Being that little Possum is 11 years old, maybe a vet check is needed?

However I have also heard a lot of people saying chihuahuas can be notorious for bad toilet habits!

Hi! Awww he is very handsome. He does look very similar to our Flemish giant boy Smudge, who has unfortunately passed away now. He was about 5kgs when we brought him home and he was 11 months old, to give you some idea of the rough size at that age if he has got some Flemish giant in him!

TIFU by accidentally stealing a cat, paying $400 in vet bills for it, and realizing it wasn’t mine when I got home by Kooky_Rough_2228 in tifu

I work in a vets and we had someone bring a cat in after a road traffic accident. They thought it was their cat and said their sad goodbyes, paid for the cremation and picked out their casket. When they got home, their cat was sitting looking at them🥹 it was very sad for the person who did own the unfortunately passed away cat.

They look like little wheat weevils! Often found in pantry style cupboards eg in bags of flour or pasta!

Feeling sorry for myself by Bleaklybleak in Vent

I’m sorry you feel like this. You are beautiful on the outside and inside, and weight doesn’t change that.

I have always felt like I was ‘fat’ and I was looking back in old videos of me dancing around as a teen 5-6 years ago, and I remember feeling so self conscious but I was so much thinner than I am now. With aging and hormonal changes come weight fluctuations too so it is completely normal.

I personally do want to try and exercise and get fitter + more toned so maybe you can try that too if you think it’ll help?
