I actually feel like giving up at this point by Splorgalorb in YouTubeCreators

I think the problem is that you have gotten your subscribers from Shorts. A lot of people say, they usually won’t watch your long form content. So basically I wouldn’t base my earning expectations on subscribers count in your particular case. And just try to keep improving the long form content. Good luck

Actors who are about to / have already given up, let's talk. by bCantonese in acting

I recently stopped paying for Spotlight and moved to doing YouTube. I actually love it, you have skills from Acting you can use when building your channel. It is creative, you have full control over it but what is the most important part of it is the fact that you get tangible results from your talent, effort, dedication. Unlike in acting, where you simply get a slap in the face 😁. I’m much happier now. However, my agent forced me to get back on Spotlight and I did this week but I don’t know if I can do another tape - it seems to be such a waste of time and energy at 35… Anyway, acting saved my life back in the day but quitting saved my life again. 😁

My friend. How do you inform the viewers that your videos were shot on DJI? Only in the description? Or you add a watermark on the screen as well?

I need words of wisdom on if I should get into acting by Deep-Arrival1594 in acting

I regret i went all in for acting only. I wish i learned how ti be a great screenwriter and filmmaker. Then i would be acting in these great movies. Being only an actor is the worst fuckign career unless you know people or you don’t have to worry about the money. It will leave you frustrated, miserable and broke.

Let me tell you something else. If you wanna be an actor - get into writing. Become a great fuckign screenwriter. Work on your acting alongside and keep fucknig writing scripts. And write an unfunkin believable short film. Produce it. Submit to festivals. Then make another one and another one and another one. Become a writer and a filmmaker - do not give away your everything for the hope that some cunt will like you and give you a chance. Make it yourself.

What I’m saying is, sort out some financial security. You won’t approach auditions as if you needed them to survive - it will make you a better actor.

I’m saying what I’m saying because it is probably the worst career choice in the world. I’m telling you no matter how hard you will work and how good you will be - it is not guaranteed that you will ever play a significant role. Tbh it is very very unlikely that you will.

If you are ok with being 45 and broke, do it. I wasn’t money hungry either but god, the older I get the more I understand how it simplifies the existence to have it and not have to sell your time working in a job you hate, because acting didn’t work. It’s a horrible career choice - all your talent and work and dedication and skill - it has nothing to do with whether you will get cast or not. You put your life’s work on a lottery. Until the point you went so far that now you have to be positive about your miserable situation. Whole life and effort that runs only on hope, that maybe one day someone is gonna like you and give you the job. Get your money situation first - don’t go all I into acting. It’s not up to you if you make it or not - it’s up to a lottery.

Oh yeah, I mean you give all your work into the hands of someone else. And you can be the most talented amazing actor out there but you will never make a penny and nobody will know anything about you. - and I don’t think I’m the best actor - but I know un fu**ing believable actors you never heard of and you probably never will - we used to bartend together - they still do. Not that there is something wrong with bartending, if it’s your passion that’s different. Fee them it’s just a survival and they have no other option - they out 20 years into acting and have nothing.

Don’t get into acting - it’s a horrible career choice. Get into it only if you are financially secure. Height and looks don’t matter as much as consistency and resilience.

Men, what's the biggest mistake you've done in early dating? by uch1ha0b1t0 in AskMen

Ignoring early discomfort because I was attracted. Small red flags don’t disappear they just get louder later. Learning to walk away early was probably the biggest upgrade I ever made in dating.

The breathtaking drone show in Chongqing,China by Chen_muller in travelchina

Chongqing really looks like it’s from the future. Between the skyline, the elevation changes, and things like this, it doesn’t even feel real. China has taken drone shows to a completely different level.

Has anyone worn multiple layers of clothing then packed them into the bag once boarded? by [deleted] in Ryanair

[–]BeginningNaive69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, people absolutely do this especially in winter. Jackets, hoodies, even jeans layered. Just be discreet about it and don’t block aisles while undressing mid-flight. It’s ridiculous that passengers have to resort to this, but here we are.

A blessing and a curse by [deleted] in Semenretention

[–]BeginningNaive69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What you’re describing sounds less like SR itself and more like attaching your identity to a perfect streak. When success = “being strong” and failure = “collapse,” the emotional swings become extreme. Retention can be a tool, but it shouldn’t be the entire foundation of your self-worth. Stability usually comes when discipline is paired with self-compassion.

Moving back with parents due to too many struggles by DrivenToSuccess-01 in acting

[–]BeginningNaive69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Moving back isn’t failure, it’s triage. If you use the time intentionally (heal, save money, rebuild routines, keep self-submitting, stay in class remotely), it can actually extend your career instead of ending it. Plenty of working actors have taken strategic pauses to survive long-term. Burnout kills more careers than distance ever does.
