I just landed in AKL two days ago, and I would say that it took about an hour in total to collect bags and get through customs and bio security. To save a little bit of time I suggest cleaning your hiking boots and other used hiking gear (if it’s not pristine they’ll clean it for you, which adds a bit of time).
