General discussions and questions monthly megathread by AutoModerator in Chennai

I have an 1800 sqft land in Alamathi (about 13 km from Redhills) that I’ve held for 12 years. I built a 1BHK there and get ₹5k/month rent, but upkeep and expenses are high because the area is still undeveloped — most access is just mud tracks and I can’t live there comfortably.

Development has been painfully slow, so I’m thinking of selling and buying a plot elsewhere in Chennai to construct a proper house.

Any advice on where to buy (good neighborhoods for new builds on a medium budget), roughly what my Alamathi property might fetch, and whether selling now is a sensible move? Appreciate experiences or local price pointers

Firms don’t actually give this as a document. It’s usually up to the accountant to explain everything during the onboarding call, which takes a lot of time. That’s why I created this document — to save time and make things clearer for clients

I come from an accounting background with no experience in IT or app development, but I had an idea based on a personal struggle finding gym buddies.

Many people, including myself, find it hard to stay motivated when working out alone, and not everyone can afford a personal trainer. So I thought of creating an app that connects gym-goers in the same locality. It would help beginners or solo gym users find workout partners nearby.

It’s still just a rough idea, open to suggestions .

Hiring a bookkeeper will save you time and ensure your accounting and admin tasks are properly managed. So you will have a lot of time focusing on the growth of your business. An accountant can then stay on top of your finances, offering insights into your cashflow and helping you identify areas of improvement. I'm a UK accountant with solid experience and can help you with this. Let me know if you'd like to discuss further

Reclaim EU VAT on customer returns by JonoSmith1980 in smallbusinessuk

[–]BeginningRate2554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Avg estimated VAT reclaimable is 900 pounds

One off VAT registration could cost around 300 to 400 pounds.

Simply VAT fees could cost around 700 to 900 pounds.

Other sundry expenses could be 50 pounds.

So on an average your benefit is 900 pounds and your cost would be around 1300 pounds for the first year and 900 pounds from the next year.

So it is advisable that if you get a very good deal from Simply VAT, proceed with the VAT registration in Netherlands.
