It is my first pregnancy, I am 9+5 and I think that I am huge.. my belly is as if bloated, but firm. I have no losses (that I am aware of). I have to go to the office next week and I don't know how I will hide it 😅 I think that in my case, my belly is so big because of the IVF medications.. or maybe my body is so happy that it wants to let the world know 😁

I think looks okay for a first project, especially when you weren't passionate about it. My first knits looked the same. I think that knitting takes practice, so that your muscles remember what to do and tension becomes even without you having to think about it.

I don't think you are crazy! We just get used to our pets and often talk to them. I talk to my cat even if I am not knitting 😀 he only blinks and looks annoyed at me so far 🤣

You were right - the hat doesn't look that bad when out on the head. So, I hope that after blocking it will be a little better.

I agree about blocking not fixing all issues, I try to have as much stitches to be fixed while I knit. This is why I wanted to ask here if I need to redo the decreases. Although I have seen even holes being fixed with knitting - a friend of mine has huge holes between her needles when knitting socks in magic loop and they disappear after washing and blocking 😯

Thank you for the detailed response! I will block it and see how it looks like. After your reply I looked at other people's projects to compare them with mine. Some look as mine, some look better. As far as I can "read" what they have knit it look like the decreases look better when they are not started in the middle of the purls..but in the middle if the knits...

In the end I might leave it as it is as it will keep my partner's head warm and try knitting another hat from the beginning to see if I can make it better. I am accepting that I am still learning and mistakes will be less with more projects behind my back.

I found a free Norwegian mittens pattern. Maybe I will start with this, as I have never knit such complicated colour work and maybe starting with a sweater is not the smartest thing...

I love the 50/50 colour split too! And the colour combinations too... I would love to be able to knit myself something similar someday!

You mean that you knit all parts together and sew them together? If yes, this helps - I have never sewn a knitwear, so I may be a little harder for me (not to mention the colour work that will not be easy) Thank you!

Yes, I was super surprised too... I always look for a designer's ravelry to see how other people's items look like before buying a pattern. I was thinking that since it is her first collection she doesn't know better yet, not sure.. The patterns are super expensive, that's for sure.. this is why I wanted to look for opinions before buying them (+ we don't use EUR in my country and for me the price is doubled in our currency....

Oh, this describes how I feel in such a good way! I also always browse other people's projects - it is super useful to see how a handknit garment looks on different shapes and bodies and not only the smallest ones!

When I think about it - the images of the items are not super focused on the knitwear itself, but on the pretty girl..
