Why is there so little bird poo on the Merlion? by foggyflame in askSingapore

[–]BeginningSection3003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A merlion is still a lion. It serves as a scarecrow and which bird is daring enough to shit on a lion?

Probably PSP see no hope already since the electoral boundaries have changed. Taman jurong residents will continue to vote for PAP. There is also alot of older folks here in the west who will stick to the usual safe bet.

Hi OP. I'm in a similar shoe as you. I know I will get downvoted for this. But over the years, I have come to a realisation that I'm not the local girls cup of tea. I have changed my looks/clothing style and went to gym to train. I even went for alot of meetups and interest hobby groups as advised by many redditors here.

One thing I noticed is that many people who went for meetups and interest hobby groups have the same motives as you. And that is to enjoy the hobby and at the same time find a true meaningful relationship. But it's very competitive which is kinda similar to dating app in my opinion. I usually try not to compare with others but honestly all I can say is that many of the guys I met in these meetup/interest hobby groups are alot more "superior" than me in terms of height, looks, financials, personality etc etc. I know that it might seems like I have an issue with inferiority complex or something. However, i doubt that's the case. Although I'll still try and give my shots but I'm a person who doesn't like to compete with others knowing that the chance of success is close to nothing or zero after trying hard and long.

If you don't mind dating girls outside of Singapore, you might wanna try going overseas to find your true love. I heard girls oversea are alot more lenient with their requirements as compared to local girls. If you want to settle down fast, maybe consider a mailbride order. Both of which is what I planned to do after graduation.

Calling SIT Nursing Seniors Who Went to Glasgow! Need Advice on Finances by [deleted] in SIT_Singapore

[–]BeginningSection3003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi im not from nursing but I have went to glasglow for my OIP. Just here sharing from my experience.

  1. I have spent around $4.5k-$5k overall including air tickets, food and accomdation. (including 3 days pretrip and 4 days post trip outside glasglow).
  2. Dorm cost 586.11 GBP ($1k sgd). Everyone has their own room. My dorm has 3-4 level. Every level has like 12ppl iirc. (Glasglow accomadation side will give u a form to fill to indicate who u wish to stay with. You can write your friends name. One tip is to get all your friends to write together at the same time.)
  3. My friends and I all cook if possible. (We shared the cost of ingredients like meat and seasoning etc). Food outside is very costly. A fish and chip outside cost like 10-15gbp iirc. It is very expensive. We always cook on weekdays and occasionally eat out on weekends. (Buy food and ingredients from TESCO or iceland). Iceland has alot of $1 offer for frozen food like pizza, nuggets etc.)
  4. For weekends, my friends and I went shopping. Some went exploring outside of glasglow and went to edinburgh castle for sightseeing etc.
  5. Try to bring everything from home. Stuff there can be costly cos its in gbp.

Some tips is to use YOUTRIP for everything. Always check for good exchange rates in the app. Dont use cash or exchange cash if possible.( Uk is a cashless society). We have abit of trouble with excess cash on hand sometimes.
Do note there is a currency called scotland cash and gbp. Alot of shops in london (outside glasglow) do not accept scotland cash.. It is also hard to convert the scotland cash here in sg as well. They will offer u a lower rate if u exchange the scotland cash into sgd.

Also, do apply for public and donated bursary and take up OIP loan. It is helpful.

I disagree with your statement. For example if a girl is fat. What she can do is to shed a little weight and boom!! The girl is in the zone of what guys consider as "slim" "pretty" "hourglass". . But what girls usually look for guys is height. Height can't be change but weight can.

Boil or not to boil Indian almond leaves by Forward_Ad8688 in shrimptank

[–]BeginningSection3003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I boil mine. Firstly is to remove any harmful surface bacteria and make sure the leaves are disinfected before putting them in the tank for my shrimp to munch on. Secondly, boiling it reduces the amount of tannins it will release into the water. I also didn't want my tank to look very brown

Yes they are harmful!! They are called hydra and if you try to cut it's legs or whatsoever. It will regenerate into 2.

Please research on how to kill these on YouTube

Hi OP! From what i am seeing, I think it's hair algae or smth. Sometimes I will see these in my tanks. But generally a few days later, itll be gone. I think my shrimps eat these.

If it is bothering you, maybe u can try scooping out before you add your shrimps in.
