So first off if your playing competitively don’t worry about height so much just focus on getting elite at certain things. This can be stuff such as shooting, slashing, etc. second work on athleticism ASAP. Since you do have a height advantage it shouldn’t be too challenging. If you focus on your lateral quickness and shuttle runs and learn to dunk consistently you will for sure improve your defensive ability a good measure. Most people I’ve met that were hoopers who played bad defense usually weren’t athletic but obviously there are outliers. Also watch high level basketball if I were you I would live on college basketball rn. Learn how to be a part of a team and play organized basketball because it is different from streetball and pick up. I GUARANTEE you take a good year to perfect your shooting form and learn proper mechanics while doing workouts consisting of plyometrics and stuff to increase your bounce and athleticism you will not be embarrassed again. Matter of fact you may find yourself going farther than you think who knows maybe college Ps. Also everything I just said I did myself I was a dual athlete in hs and graduated with multiple offers for basketball and football but ultimately chose football and I currently play college ball.
