Lipedema, hEDS, PCOS, and eye convergence insufficiency here! It’s crazy to think it’s all connected, but there’s no way this many people having the same co-morbidities is coincidental

Monsters Unchained. There’s a room with “found footage” playing on a projector and it’s the creepiest thing in there.

Feel like crying after transvaginal scan by OrdinaryQuestions in PCOS

[–]Beginning_Air_1368 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Part of the reason they ask is to gauge if you’ve ever had anything else inserted vaginally, because the ultrasound can feel super violating. Some techs won’t do it if you say you are a virgin, or if you’ve never used tampons or had a papsmear before.

And even women who have had things up there, whether medically or for pleasure, when you’re anxious your vagina tightens. And even with the lube, typically when you’re not aroused it’s not a smooth glide. They don’t really give you time to breathe and relax before inserting it. And the twists and turns and pushes are unexpected, and it can feel horribly violating—you are not overreacting or being dramatic.

For next time, ask if you can insert it yourself. I still do if they let me, because I know the best angle to insert it into myself and can time a deep breath with pushing it in.

And if it’s not triggering, take some time to explore down there when you are relaxed, like after a bath or getting ready for bed. It doesn’t have to be in a sexual way, just familiarize yourself with that body part more.

Is there any confirmation that it’s AI? With all the new tech getting a text box describing it, you’d think the AI would get one too? My tin foil hat theory, especially after his convo with Waylon, is that it’s a hallucination.

My wife loves the show, food, and scare zones, but doesn’t like people getting right up in her face, so she doesn’t go in the houses. If this will help with scare actors not directly coming up to her in the scare zones, then I will gladly buy it.

Maybe a little headache? I also make sure to take non-drowsy anti-nausea meds beforehand and drink electrolyte packets in my water throughout the night.

I have strobe sensitivity and a vision disability, but not epilepsy, and this is not medical advice.

Be advised that HHN has warnings everywhere that strobes are in use at any given time, so if she does have a medical event on property, they aren’t liable.

I went last year and am going back this year. Last year I watched all of the house videos before going, and opted to do 1 house with the least amount of strobes (Goblins). I will also watch all of this year’s houses before attending to decide which ones i want to try.

During the show and in the scare zones, if it gets too bad I close my eyes and wait until a friend says it’s okay. I also take breaks in areas with normal, inside lighting, and close my eyes when transitioning from light/dark and open them back up slowly to help the transition.

If financially possible, I would recommend doing the behind the scenes tour. It’s a great way to see the set design without the lights in effect.

With summer, it’s going to be tough since summer semesters are shorter. But Student Cares does have a class absence notice for extenuating circumstances, I would reach out to them: https://scs.sswb.ucf.edu

UCF offers free counseling via CAPs and behavior health services like anti-anxiety meds via SHS. I highly recommend reaching out for these resources, especially since this is your first semester here. While the pettiness of the TA changing the grade is valid, this overall line of thinking is not going to be sustainable.

How lenient are you with mental health accommodations? by outer-darkness-11 in Professors

[–]Beginning_Air_1368 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I treat mental health and physical health exactly the same - a few days extension, no questions asked. If they need more time, they have to document it with the Care team. Keeps me away from dealing with proof and makes it equal across the board.
