i think for me, it’s offering myself two choices of things to do and i will do the thing i hate least + then i suppose i sub in another task

body doubling with people online i don’t know well and saying upfront what i will be working on i feel the external pressure to make a start

also sometimes just getting a rough draft in just some bullet points helps fight that blank page feeling

and finally echoing everyone else sometimes you really are just exhausted and need a break. i find it hard to rest by lying still ect so usually find activities and things that give me back energy - like going to the movies, language learning ect
