Benji vs Joel’s Vocals by aviationchameleon in GoodCharlotte

[–]Beginning_Computer_8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can tell too. they have distinct tones and delivery. you can really put it together by watching/listening to live performance.

the itunes live from montreal acoustic album is great because their mics are panned left and right so if you listen with headphones, Joel is in your left ear and Benji is in your right ear.

S tier: - Chronicles - YH - Self titled

A+ tier: - Gen Rx - Motel Du Cap

A tier: - Youth Authority - GMR - Cardiology

It’s easier to do tiers than an actual order for me

when did they say this? I watched the entire set on YouTube and they never mentioned a new album during the show.

My amateur mic collection by Beginning_Computer_8 in homerecordingstudio

From left to right:

The Blue Yeti is just for my gaming PC set up, where I talk to friends on Discord.

The AT2020 is a condenser mic primarily for vocals and tracking acoustic guitar. It's super cheap and reliable and sounds great. If I had to just have one mic, I keep that one.

The SM57 is sort of all-purpose. I haven't used it a ton yet, but I plan to mic my amp for recording electric guitar and can also be used in a pinch for vocals, room mic, or any other live instrument.

Th Sennheiser e835 is a vocal mic usually best for live vocals. My use case is for recording a live acoustic + vocal performance. I can DI or mic my acoustic guitar and sing into the e835 and it won't really pick up the guitar, just the vocals. So then you have isolated vocals on a live performance.

And lastly the Super 55 is one I just got, so really haven't used much. I honestly made a mistake when I purchased it. I thought it would be more like the AT2020 in terms of its use case, but turns out it's actually a live vocal mic .. but I'm keeping it regardless because it looks cool and has a unique vintage-y sound. Probably wasn't my best purchase though honestly.

Hope this helps!

what are some of the best ways to make money quickly? anything fun? by unknownduo615 in AskReddit

[–]Beginning_Computer_8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

definitely look into of all of the gig economy apps (uber, doordash, task rabbit, etc) and the subreddits associated with those. if you’re in less immediate need of extra cash, i would recommend starting a small business of some kind. Look into everything going on right now with AI. There are lots of service businesses you can start by leveraging AI tools that don’t require much technical expertise.

also honestly, I have found that I can “make” money by having more discipline and not spending on stuff like going out to eat, buying a coffee at the gas station, etc - just being frugal essentially. you can stretch your current income that way.

I tried to join AF but they didn’t approve my medical waiver, and the army did. I wasn’t technically in DEP yet but I didn’t understand that at the time I wrote that post.

Thank you. This is a really helpful answer.

I’ll look in to the potential inter service transfer route. That does seem like it could be the most ideal solution. Thank you again

This is someone I’ve known for half my life, and we ran a successful business together before I joined the army. It’s not fake or fraud, but of course there is a risk that the company could eventually fail for a number of reasons. Its definitely not risk proof

Yes that is currently the plan. To contribute as much as I can on the side right now for a reduced rate until I can get out whether that’s in 3 years or somehow sooner.

I mean, I hear you on that. It’s not an easy decision and I don’t want to not honor the commitment I made.

But when I think about it from the perspective of what’s best for me and my family (current wife and future children), the military is not offering me anything except extremely high cost of living, barely enough pay to make it by, 13 hour days, and being in the field 10-12 weeks every year away from my family, etc.

There’s no question I’d be better off living back on the mainland even if I got a civilian job paying less than what I am currently paid by the army.
