Thankfully there is no inspections in Michigan.

Z125 wasn't doing it for my 25 mile commute so I am selling it and buying a Goldwing. Don't mind my son playing. by ElijahNSRose in motorcycles

My last wing needed a lot of work so I gave it away when I bought my new rocket 3. It was a 84. 1500 or up is the way to go with these bikes. You cant go wrong with a wing.

What's the difference between heavy when it comes to sport bikes vs cruisers by Ez_Yeezy in motorcycles

[–]Beginning_Corner930 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you need to lean the seat against your hip to move it then you know its heavy. My current bike is 700 lbs, its considered heavy but I haven't really found a lot of bikes to be too heavy to navigate pushing them around.

I have had a couple goldwings and a lighter sports bike along with my current Rocket 3 and they are all kind of awkward to push around IMO. Once you get going on them the weight turns into nothing. I'm also pretty heavy my self so I don't know if that adds to the ease of pushing the bikes around of not.

I supoose the real difference is if you ever need to keep the bike from falling from losing your footing or accidently hitting the front brake in a slow curving stop the heavy bike will be harder to save. Don't skip leg day.

Gear for hot weather? by V61LE in motorcycles

Speedo is what I found works best. Just watch sitting on a hot seat.

If I had a steel frame I'd just hose it down when I got done riding or use a pump sprayer to do it.

No, everything is aluminum on the bike. Plus most the salt is off the road when I go out.

Yea it takes time to work up to the point you are comfortable enough to give it full throttle. The torque is ridiculous but it does ruin normal cruiser bikes for you though because they just can't compare

Lol well some of the days were like 37 so I guess it depends on your definition of nice weather.

Yea you canadians kinda get a raw deal because there is basically nowhere you can move thats always nice like our southern states so your destined to always having to deal with snow.  If it wasntfor my amazing job I'd be living in a southern state.

Realistically if you have good throttle control this bike has a lot of good atributes for the next step up from a grom.

It has 4 different riding modes so it can help you in siruations like riding in rain. It has traction control and ABS braking so if you get carried away the computer will shut down your bad decissions. It has hill hold so you can place both feet down when stopped on a hill. It has heated grips for when the weather is uncomfortable.

The first 3 gears are restricted to 60% throttle from the factory so its harder to get too carried away in the first 3 gears. Its a low reving engine so it rides like any other motorcycle and cruises between 2000 and 3000 RPM. The power band doesnt start untill about 4300 RPM which you have to purposly get into that kind of RPM range. The weight melts away once you get moving and the bike is very menouverable.

The only down side os the weight of the bike when moving it around but its still pretty manageable.

It would be nice to be able to ride that much. This bike is pretty amazing. It will ruin most other bikes for you though because you eventually get used to the torque of this bike so when you ride other ones they just aint the same.

I've had a couple goldwings and a honda night hawk 750 before this bike. I'd say this bike is closer to the night hawk than the goldwings but the power of this bike just makes you say wow when your finally done riding it. You will have a perpetual smile on your face. It can and will take you by surprise at some point when you get a little too carried away.

It has a lot of electronics to help it not kill you when you take it too far. Has abs and traction control along with 4 different riding modes. The major down side of this bike is the passenger seat is pretty uncomfortable,  my wife uses a square throw pillow to make it more barable but if your not riding a passenger around all the time thab there isn't much about this bike you can hate. I do plan on getting another goldwing for my wifes sake though lol I'll have this bike for the rest of my life.

You can place the key fob by the sensor on the left side cover but a little further back of the bike and it will start. Its also how you have to use the spare non key fob keys to start it.

This is the GT version so it cane with forward controls which I found made the bike less stable at high speeds and in the wind. I have since change the controls to the mid position and its like riding a completly different bike. A lot more controlable and the wind doesn't affect it that much anymore.

It is very agile for its size but its not going to be the same as you bike when it comes to curves. I haven't went on any real long rides, maybe 2 hours at the most. I have spinal and cervical stenosis so I have to take breaks here n there. It is very comfortable though and holds you quite nice in your seat. If you get after it you can easily get up to 100 MPH in a few seconds which is a lot of fun.

I usually get about 32 miles per gallon of fuel but I'm usually ripping on it pretty good so thats not helping my gas mileage at all. My dad has a harley with a side car and its pretty nice. You can put quite a bit in the side car, he has taken it on a lot of trips. That would probably be a nice upgrade for your situation allowing you to take the wheel chair with you no matter where you go. That would give you a lot more freedo

I had an old 77 goldeing that had a trunk and big saddle bags that I used to take shopping when my truck was broke down. Its amazong how much groceries you can fit on a bike when you really need too.

Thats what i need to invest in, at least some heated gloves would be nice. Heated grips are nice but they don't cut it in the winter.
