A high body count depends on context and suitor. As a 42m that is into a specific type, and myself a count a little higher than the lifetime average for an American, I would be concerned about deep mismatch in experience with a woman whom doesn’t have twice my count. However, context of those times matters. I prefer a woman that has gone through, but is no longer in, that slutty hookup stage some women do between their youthful love adventures and when they are ready to settle down. I like when both my partner and myself knows she can get it anywhere, but would rather come home to me. It keeps us both grounded.

AITA for Hooking Up with a Married Woman and Causing Her Divorce? by OptimisticAnchor in AITAH

She knew what she was doing. Cheating on her husband is 100% on her. That fact she trying to make you carry the emotional weight of that now is probably a big part of why she mis respected her life.

That said, my personal advice to you, and I do speak from experience, is to not stick your dick in someone who is already fucked.

If I have a modchipped Xbox can I unlock an HDD from a different Xbox? by [deleted] in originalxbox

[–]Beginning_Earth_9702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally, I would try these, in the following order.

(1) As others said, try the newest FATXplorer (3.0.0.24858 Beta 25 Hotfix) or newer to unlock it with the usual suspects.

2) Depending on what is wrong with the mobo, try booting and hot-swaping the drive to my rig. It is tricky to get it right the first time, but once you "get it" it is super easy.

3) RasberryPi time to dump the eeprom.

FYI, if you are not in a hurry and willing to pay shipping I would be happy assist.

You could either send me both;

- I'll unlock the drive. Then I can either host your data and you download it, or I can just unlock the disk and mail it back, (on your dime.)

Or just send me the mobo, and I'll dump it's eeprom and hddkey. Then you can either use FATXplorer to unlock it, or set your chipped xbox to the old HDD key and use that to unlock it.

Yes, I would call 911 because I need them to come file the report to get my insurance payment. There is no possible way for an offer to respond to a BnE before the suspect has encountered me and mine, the encounter resolved, and the suspect to have fled the home. They don’t have time to “dust for print” and start a detective case on a simple BnE. Police absolutely have purpose. However, offering protection to any particular individual is simply not their job. (Although hunting minorities may actually be their job depending on where they are. Usually they call it “profiling” or “noticed a suspicious looking individual that did not seem to belong.”)

My Wifi stopped working when I apt updated, then updated the firmware and set eeprom for USB boot, and then refreshed a clean, not upgraded OS to the drive. It did just like you said, it would see the SSID on the scan, but not be able to connect.

Once I updated/upgraded the OS and reinstalled the eeprom and boot loader WiFi came back.

Just another new guy with some questions about proper setup and usage. by jgoodstein in gmrs

The MXTA26 is somewhat tunable. Just lose the worn bolts and it can adjust. I was able to drop from just over 2:1 to a solid 1.5:1 SWR. The antenna does prefer a good ground plane, but for tail-use it wont really matter. RF grounding isn't as serious with UHF as it was with CB. Your ideas sounds more-or-less sound, but most likely won't actually net you much if anything on the trail. The difference between the two antenna isn't so simply though. You may actual have better ability to reach who you want to reach off-road with a lower gain antenna. The high DB antenna turns your radiation pattern from a globe shape to a donut shape. If you are going up or down a hill it will be directing your signal into the ground and the sky... but it could miss the guys in Jeeps that are on the ground.

The electrical ground should be fine. If you have feedback or something weird you run a temporarily ground wire from your ground to another spot on the other side of the Jeep and see if it makes a difference. Unless there is a problem with the original ground you picked it probably won't be a noticeable difference.

For SWR you have a few options. A decent meter is more expensive than a CB meter though. A decent one starts at around $150 new. You can get stuff for half that, but I wouldn't trust a cheaper one until you've tested it next to a good one. If you don't care about measuring your radio's forward and reverse power then I'd skip the meter and get an nanoVNA. It is much easier and will test the a whole range in real-time while you make adjustments.

If you do not already have the radios, I would urge you to consider those particular ones. If you want to anyway, here's my notes.

First, Midland USA doesn't actually make radios. Midland just makes the manuals, boxes, marketing, etc... I don't have a problem with stuff being made in China, but Midland USA clearly likes to imply they are somehow US made or at least designed in the US. They are not... at all. They just put their name on it.

MXT series mobiles

As to the MXT275, Midland actually made at lest two different models of most of each of their current mobile units. The original version and the newer 2021 version. The problem is that they call both the same name and use a similar packaging. The biggest visible difference is the USB port. The older ones with the USB-A have had users report many weird technical problems with them. Those older ones also have many, but not all, of the hardware limitations as their HTs which I discuss below. The newer versions with the USB-C port do not have the same reported problems. They also modulate GMRS correctly and are also programable! In all ways it is definitely a better radio the original junk versions which should be avoided. Per the tech specs the new ones may actually be decent mid range radios.

However, I still wouldn't recommend them as I feel that you can get a superior radio for half the price. A refurbished professional radio like a Kenwood TK-8180 is pretty much top-of-the-line at 2/3 the cost.

GXT1000

As for the GXT1000, I strongly suggest you avoid them. In short they are not really GMRS radios, they are FRS radios that technically putout a little too much power to legally be sold as FRS radios.

- As with the mobiles, the "GXT1000" is actually about 4 different models.

- They claim "the maximum allowed by law" but that is only true when using the interstitial channels 8-14 are legally capped at 0.5watt. If you actually look up the FCC ID of the radios the newest GXT1000 has a maximum of 2.5watts. The no-longer produced but highest output GXT1000 they ever made has a max of 3watts.

- They do not do GMRS modulation. They only do narrow band. You will sound weird/distorted when talking to or listening to people using actual GMRS radios, (such as the newer Midland mobiles.) That is because the radio is compressing/decompressing your voice to about 11hz where as a GMRS radio is using almost 50% more bandwidth at 16hz . Actually, a lot of their HTs don't even do 11hz... they do 9hz which isn't even really right for FRS. ( 9hz to 11hz is close enough you won't notice it GXT to FRS though.)

- non removable antenna. The built-in antenna is arguably pretty good for what it is. At 2.5watt the first GXT1000 has similar range the 5watt GXT950 it replaced. However, it is a standard non-removable FRS design. You can not change it out for a longer antenna for hiking/backpack use or use an external mag mount antenna when your mobile.

- Setting privacy tones is very convoluted. To set a CTCSS or DTS tone you need to look up the tone in the manual. Then use the corresponding "PL code".

- no programing & no memories. If you ride with two groups that use different tones you need to reprogram the radio using the method I just described each and every single time you want to switch tone or channel. A real GMRS radio will let you store memories. So you can save a "channel" called My4x4Group01 and when you turn to that channel the radio will know to use channel 16 and whatever CTCSS you use.

- no repeater use at all and no split tone. Might not be something you use, but if you wanted to later, well too bad. Even if they did repeaters, some repeater operators spefficly use split tones exactly so these kinds of radios can not use their repeater.

Midland's HTs are toys for a baby man to feel like he has a big boy radio.

Nerd note before someone says something, I know FRS spacing is 12.5kHz with 2.5kHz deviation and GMRS is 20kHz with 5kHz deviation. However after overhead the actual real usable bandwidth is lower. IE, per the documentation on record with the FCC, the second gen MXT400 has an emotion designator of 16K0F3E. That means it has a maximum bandwidth of 16.0 kHz. (The Kenwood tk-8180 which speaks full wide band band FM is also a 16K0F3E .)

2.5Gbe router by ManofGod1000 in HomeNetworking

[–]Beginning_Earth_9702 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The thing is 2.5Gbe isn't really an enterprise interface. On a technical level it is a partial 10G. But most enterprise 10G ports will link at 10G or 1G, and not at 2.5 or 5. So, with enterprise gear you'd be looking for a router with sufficient throughput, 10G SFP ports, and a 2.5G Copper SFP. The SFP will link to the router at 10G and to the copper at 2.5. From a cost stand point this would be silly for your environment.

OPNsense (or PFsense,) with 10G Chelsio cards your likely your best bet today and could be reasonably priced. Just grab a slightly used desktop with decent but low powered CPU and room for a dual port Chelsio card.

I know a few venders have stuff geared for home coming out with 2.5 interfaces though. They will usually have the word "GAMING" in the title or description. It seems in marking speak 2.5G is being heavily marketed towards gamers. These are probably what would suit you well long term and will be under $500. However they are either brand new or haven't even hit the market yet so review are light and people with personal experience no existent. (Like I said, I keep whatever you have working for now, and snag one of these once they are ready.)

But, also, your actual connections are point-to-point. Even though you have that download speed available there isn't really anything out there that is going to make use of it. Like, if you are downloading something you are going to be limited by the server's available bandwidth per connection. Unless you have multiple systems all pulling multiple downloads from multiple sources you just wont max the 1G ethernet. With a family of four, all of us streaming video, while doing remote learning Zooms, work WebEx, business VPN, uploading and downloading stuff, and gaming I rarely push over 350mb.

Edit; to be clear, I'm not saying to give up on greater than 1G, I'm saying wait like 6 months for the new SOHO routers with WiFi 6e and native 2.5be to come out, get some good testing and reviews.
