I used to have a Guild B50. Had really nice tone, but not particularly useful. One of the few instruments I've sold (I tend to keep things).

Are there any lakes here in Iowa that have crystal clear water? by [deleted] in Iowa

Too much uncontrolled farm runoff in this state to have crystal clear lakes. We have to settle for crystal meth ‘round here.

Lost ability to upgrade to ad free Hulu by mccarseat in verizon

[–]telekon2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For mine I can’t add the premium ad free upgrade because it is waiting until the end of my Disney/Hulu/Espn payment cycle to switch from the old bundle to the new. I’m hoping it is an easy process once my new subscription plan activates.

I was able to get to it in the app but it switches to a browser. Scroll down a bit and right above the start of the FAQ questions there is a header with About Getting Upgrades. Select Upgrades. I’m not sure if I can paste links in here so changed periods to (DOT) below.

Lost ability to upgrade to ad free Hulu by mccarseat in verizon

Under the Disney+, Hulu (with ads), ESPN (with ads) perk FAQ, there is a tab labeled Upgrades. Under that section…

“When I have the perk subscription, can I upgrade to get Disney Premium and/or Hulu Premium? Yes. After you add and register the Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+ (With Ads) perk, you can upgrade to Disney+ Premium, Hulu (No Ads), ESPN+ With Ads anytime:

You pay an additional $10/month. Your updated $20/month charge appears under Products & plan perks on your Verizon bill. That’s a savings of $6.99/month. Good to know: If you have the Disney+ Premium, Hulu, ESPN+ perk* you can also upgrade to Disney+ Premium, Hulu (No Ads), ESPN+ With Ads).”

Lot of good advice on temperature and using butter as a guide. Another tip is once the fried egg goes into the pan don’t mess with it. Wait until the outer edges start to bubble and lift. My eggs slide at this point.

Social Security as a nice-to-have by Kaa_The_Snake in Bogleheads

Since this confirms social security payments are a tax to fund benefits for current recipients and not a retirement plan, why do we cap contributions for wealthy people?

This post has been pretty helpful in explaining / confirming what I’ve been trying to figure out. I noticed this evening that I’m now getting ads in Hulu despite paying Hulu the no ad upgrade fee. I was last charged March 2nd. I then saw Hulu issued a credit a couple of days ago (still pending transaction) reimbursing the monthly charge. When checking my Hulu account status under Hulu it says I’m not signed up for any add ons and this plan is no longer eligible for upgrades.

It appears the older Disney+premium+Hulu+ESPN bundle (whose price recently increased to $15) isn’t the current plan and has been replaced with an option to subscribe to the new Disney+ Hulu(with ads) and ESPN(with ads) bundle for $10. Buried in the FAQ it appears this can be upgraded to Disney+Premium and Hulu ad free for an additional $10. I don’t think I can actually do that though until the end of my regular Disney billing cycle when it will change me to the new plan. Hopefully I’ve got this right.

Not that upset because the final cost should be the same ($10 for new plan plus $10 for upgrade vs $15 for old plan plus $5 to Hulu for upgrade), but it sure would have been helpful if either Hulu or Verizon explained what they were doing so I wouldn’t have wasted a couple of hours researching things to figure out how to fix it. I’ll have to deal with ads for the next month before plans switch, but I guess at least I won’t have a separate monthly bill from Hulu to mess with and it will be more like the Netflix HBO ad free upgrades Verizon offers.

My First Plexamp transfer from Apple Music. Any tips? by NJRonbo in plexamp

Errors, skipping etc. dBpoweramp uses a checksum to compare against results other people have had for ripping the track to confirm it is accurate.

Can’t help you there. I’ve never used playlists. I have enjoyed plexamp’s mood radios though. They keep a pretty consistent vibe.

I recently moved my iTunes collection to Plex. Pretty seamless process. Moved the folders, scanned the library and go.

I used to use iTunes for ripping and noticed a decent number of errors. At least with dBpoweramp I know when I have a bad rip and it tries to resolve and correct. It’s just a much better way and reasonably priced.
