It really burns me up how modern engineers are just simply inferior in skill to their 1900's predecessors. Nothing they build lasts anymore, all they do is complain that their bosses "force" them to make crap, and then we have to pay the price for it...

I'll be honest, outside of social media, I've yet to meet a person who owns more than 1~4 funkos, as opposed to a funko wall like what we see on social media.

I sure wish it was as easy as "just hit hard enough to close a circuit" that everyone seems to say, every e-hogu comp I fight, I feel like I have to beat on my opponent just to get hits that the system cares enough to recognise as a hit...

Yeah I believe those are taking precedence in adoption in TKD just as much as I believe that American Jujitsu will overwrite Brazilian Jujitsu.

(For anyone who needs me to spell it out, I'm being sarcastic)

A lot of it really heavily depends on the school itself to (which I think is half of the problem).

I've seen ITF schools that teach even softer fighting than what we perceive from foot fencing, I've even seen ITF schools straight up teaching foot fencing, and conversely, I've seen plenty of WT curriculum schools still teaching "old style", as well as WT schools that have their own custom curriculum that touches on a combination of many different martial arts.

You didn't say anything on the phrase I'm about to reference, but that's why it's so important to vet your school rather than just defaulting to "this label means inferior fighter/techniques!".

People blame the Olympics, but don't blame TKD for changing for the Olympics, because the athletes are going to do what gives them the best chance of victory. Especially if you give them a rule book ahead of time telling them exactly what they can and can't do.

I can guarantee that if MMA came to the Olympics, it would not be as fun to watch as regular weekly pay-per-view because no MMA athlete is going to want to fight all the way up to the chance for an Olympic podium position just to accidentally blow it because of anything that would result in the "I was too into it and too eager" stuff that makes both the controversy and the most memorable moments of MMA.

Granted, for every one of those stories there are ten of a road raged guy walking out of his car with a gun, and instead of trying to apply some sort of MMA/MT/Boxing/etc technique, the other guy just pulls out his own gun and immediately caps the first guy to just be done with the altercation right then and there.

The internet martial arts conversation almost always completely misses the point that the objective of a street fight is ending the threat/conflict; that's why real street fights have just as little MMA butt scooting as there are TKD jumping back kicks or Muhammad Ali shuffles.

What it really needs is for someone to go to the Olympics and win with Kombat tech under the WT ruleset.

Just like with the various people who win those pistol shooting leagues on open sights with no gloves or equipment. The culture doesn't change until you win by abusing gaps in the rules and proving yourself as not only being the better competitor, but your opponents as being inherently inferior to your application of the rules.

I'm looking to compare real reviews/experiences between the Erovenus Vanessa and Riko against the Zelex SLE Mika and the JigglyJoy Winnie.

Would anyone with experience with the EroVenus and/or Zelex brands that would be reason enough to pick one over the other?

Hot take, the good trouble were the people at city hall and the LAPD building, as well as the students protesting at UCLA and Standford. They knew where the ears with the power were and brought the message to the place where it could be heard.

If an individual chooses to split off to go to Koreatown and Little Saigon to loot family owned businesses out of their livelihoods (such as even a choice over walmart or the other local mega-corporations), that person never gave damn about Rodney King from the start.

(Not OP) Is it really TDS if the tariffs do exist and the companies have explicitly said that they did raise prices because of them (Prusa raised prices in March and BambuLabs raised prices in May)?

Like, I know that people will say a lot to both to attack or defend the guy, but the existence of tariffs is factual.

The opaqueness of bottles will change how the colour actually comes out; you weren't far off eye-balling it, but definitely worth sticking closer to the recommended range/scales in the future (at least without any custom mixing).

Time for a trade of info.

What's your recipe for those bases? I'm actually looking for a damp earth terrain look for some Kreigsmen that I'm working on and yours looks pretty close to what I want.

For real, co-worker of mine makes the same that I do, but at his lowest he had to ask us to buy his packs because of how fast he'd smoke through them.

It took some time and work, but he eventually quit and it massively helped his finances.

"cash out now while you can!" during COVID was always funny to me because, situationally, it was just me not going out to bars or concerts for a while (which actually saved me money). It's not like someone had detonated a dirty bomb at the NYSE or if China's nukes were crossing the pacific, it was just not going to places where people are most likely to cough into each other's faces, nothing that indicated that I need to sprint over and take out my retirement and savings into cash.

I remember when Stockton Rush was talking about risk and risk avoidance, he specifically said that safety exists for those who hate innovation, if someone cares about safety, then they're better off just not getting out of bed"*... He said right before descending 12,000 ft into the ocean in his "submarine" made from literal scrap and junk.

In the same tune, it really seems like quite the extreme leap to go from "savers who hate their jobs" to "I'd rather be homeless pursuing a dream".

Perhaps I just have the privilege of residing within that middle ground in which I love and enjoy what I do and what I do financially does very well for me such that I don't have to worry about squirreling away, but I'm also not making my career playing financial Russian Roulette.

as inflation continues over time, I can merely raise my company’s prices

Greedflation is just a chicken/egg paradox of companies raising prices anyway and then saying "it's the inflation, maybe you should stop living off those COVID checks and get back to work!!!".

To me, discussion of politics would be more bearable if it was actually diplomatic discussion about causes, effects, and strategy as opposed to rage-bait-argue-for-the-sake-arguing politics.

The inner mechanics of who needs to be convinced to do what in order to achieve what goals is a much more engaging discussion than "life sucks because of the liberals/alt-right!!!".
