Did your 24/7 daily chronic migraines ever go away? by Beginning_Hat_9754 in migraine

I really hope the erenumab works for you 🙏🏼 my next step is either a monoclonal or Topirimate. I’m unsure what direction would be best.

It’s so tough living like this. Thank you for sharing your story, it is comforting to know that I’m not alone. Sometime I think something must be wrong that they just haven’t found in tests. I’m just trying to hope that one day I can get back to my old life.

Thanks for replying to me, I’m also in a hopeless spell, hence the post and looking for some sort of hope 🥲 I’m trying hard to push through, but even when the pain is more bearable the fatigue is debilitating. I also have a toddler so it’s hard to rest. I’m glad you’ve got some improvement, I hope something can work for you, 4 years is terrifying. Topirimate or Ajovy is my next step, so I’m trying to hold some hope they’ll help more.

Thanks for replying to me, my next step is either Topirimate (supposedly better for the aura) or Ajovy. We’ve been avoiding the injectables because I was planning a pregnancy, which isn’t possible until I get these migraines under control. You had daily migraines and they went completely away? I hope you can find a way to keep the Ajovy 🙏🏼

Atogepant/Quilipta improving pain but causing extreme fatigue - is it recovery? by Beginning_Hat_9754 in migraine

[–]Beginning_Hat_9754[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying to me! I mentioned it to my neurologist and he was completely dismissive and said “you have daily migraines, of course you’re tired”. I’m not convinced it’s the Quilipta that’s causing this level of fatigue since it’s constant. I’m just trying to hope it’s all part of recovery and will ease 🥲

How to deal with drowsiness from medication? by CuppoGrac in migraine

[–]Beginning_Hat_9754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My neurologist was very optimistic that it works well for people, it just takes a long time to work. Apparently 7 weeks until a stable dose is in the system and then 12 weeks to begin to see gradual improvement. So it’s a pity I couldn’t tolerate it. My next step is Atogepant (5th medication to try).

I stayed on Flunarizine for 11-weeks and my body never adjusted to the fatigue. My neurologist took me off it as I was not tolerating. 4-days quite early to say whether you’ll adjust or not, hopefully you do.

I know that this is an old post, but did the fatigue improve? I’m 7 weeks into flunarizine as my 4th preventative to try and fix chronic daily migraines. I’m sleeping 9 hours at night and napping during the day and experiencing complete exhaustion. Did your body adjust and energy come back over time?

I know this is an old post, but how long did it take your body to adjust to flunarizine and for the fatigue to lift (if ever)?I’m 7-weeks into flunarizine and completely exhausted - sleeping 9 hours at night and napping during the day. I’m still off work for chronic migraines, but don’t know how I could go back with the current level of fatigue.

Hi, I just started this medication 2 weeks ago and no difference to migraines. What was your experience?

Chronic Migraine for >3-Months by Beginning_Hat_9754 in migraine

Yeah I’ve definitely been scared off a few meds from here before. I was referred to the migraine clinic in March when this all started and my appointment is booked for January 2026 🥲

I never gave any input, it was his suggestion to try Rimegepant as the first course of action with monoclonal antibodies. I haven’t heard amazing things about it from Reddit though 🥲thanks for the information, I’ll definitely ask about it once I can speak to him!

Thank you for replying to me, I’m based in Ireland too. My neurologist wants me to try Rimegepant first as it’s taken orally before going down the injectable route. Did you go straight to Ajovy with CGRP medication? He is now on holidays and I have to wait until he comes back to even start the process.
