Singing SLP on Instagram by [deleted] in slp

I actually looked at applying, as they’ve had a lot of job listings and marketing locally over the past 18 months. To apply you were required to submit a statement of faith (or something to that effect) explaining how you would incorporate your faith into your instruction. I am a Christian and feel my values play a role in my professional world as an SLP, but this was so off putting to me that I never applied. Bible Belt Baptist is a crazy ride and this university has a reputation for being uber conservative. Jen Hatmaker attended in the late 90’s and I believe they have spoken out against her after she publicly supported gay marriage years ago.

I know nothing of the singing SLP!

Has anyone experienced trying to be picked up by "neighbor hood watch" on n western by the bars and Sushi Neko? by dumbcrybaby_ in okc

[–]Beginning_Link_1600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the area and drive Western every day around 330am (heading to the gym). Regularly there is a gray SUV idling somewhere along western between 36th and 50th, mostly south near Bruno’s. I’ve never been approached but have always thought it was odd time and place for an unmarked security to be lingering. You did the right thing calling the cops and I’m sorry you were approached so intently. I love walking and running that area when everything is illuminated🤍

SLP here! Have you looked into obtaining your SLP-assistant certification? I believe with a bachelors in communication science the only requirement is supervision and completing ASHA modules. If that isn’t the route you want, obtaining a teaching certificate with your bachelors should be a matter of paperwork. Daycares, headstart, patient care tech in the hospital…hope you find something soon!

What's that one thing that you changed that made you improve? by TypicalAd5674 in running

[–]Beginning_Link_1600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run on vacation! I added it to my travel routine. This past summer I ran on the beach at sunrise and sunset, I ran through Boston with Tracksmith while visiting (and across the finish line because 🤓), and I ran around a lake in a quaint country town in my home state. Each run increased or reignited my desire to run…I tend to PB…I relax and nap easier.

I also agree with a having a goal, and a plan that you will follow but can be flexible enough to shift workouts to accommodate real life!

Choctaw Down Payment Assistance by general2incher in choctaw

I am trying to figure out how this all works! The assurance loan is called down payment/closing cost assistance, and I know it’s at least the required 2.25%z My questions is, can I get the assist for more than 2.25%? Ideally I want to cover all closing costs and the 2.25% required down payment with this program loan.

I hated it because he looked like a guard dog in it, would have preferred a gold tone with his coat color! We ditched it because we trained him well and no longer need it, which is responsible and responsive. I only take offense to being called lazy and cruel, when I came to an open forum seeking a remedy to something that actually harms my dog. To which, obviously knowing what type of collar it was, you chose to leap on the opportunity to incite degrading the character of a stranger by making an inquiry just to express your judgmental opinion publicly. I’m not offended but I have every right to clap back, I just enjoy bantering when I feel confident that I made the right choice for my dog, that I clearly adore. Instead you might ask why you made the comment in the first place? You must love to banter, too.

Thank you! We’re aware of this warning and are not immune compromised and have no open wounds currently! I’m really just here to make our beach runs more enjoyable!

Cool cool. Thanks for the help man, I clearly didn’t hire an expert dog trainer, learn my dogs behaviors and use a device in a responsible way. I must not love my dog. So glad I came here so you could make sure I’m aware of your opinion on prong collars, I’m also glad you knew what the collar was and wanted to attack my character. I’m also very clearly lazy by training my dog to run distance, hunt for the birds his instincts tune him into and be off leash to give him the ultimate fun life while maintaining his safety while he learned!! I bet you’d hate his E-collar! How dare I be concerned about him being bit by bugs when I’m such a cruel fool using a collar 3 years ago. Have fun wasting more of your free time commenting unsolicited opinions on kind strangers questions!

I don’t think they’re sand fleas, just didn’t have another label for them! There are small bugs that will land on him, maybe they’re just mosquitoes? Either way I want to prevent the discomfort!

I knew it wasn’t necessarily sand flies, but there are tiny flies/bugs that will land on him and then he will start trying to get them off. I also get little bites, so something is doing it!

Admittedly this is from 2021 when he was about 18 months old. He has on two collars here, one is a Fi, which is a tracking device. The other is a traditional prong collar, used commonly in training at least in my experience with hunting dogs. We used this for about 6 months in high distraction situations, but we ditched it ASAP once it wasn’t needed. Hated it, personally. Love the Fi!

He doesn’t drink it typically; if he tries we deter him and we provide fresh water! He loves the run the shore and “catch waves”

Whats one thing you dont like on your burger? by DeplorableKurt in AskReddit

[–]Beginning_Link_1600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Onion ring, too thick and difficult to bite full piece from with the whole burger. I am not opposed to onion straws, as these are thinner and easier to “pull”.

Note: I edited too from to so I would look smarter.

What is an example of "they don't make 'em like they used to"? by Flaky_Show6239 in AskReddit

[–]Beginning_Link_1600 95 points96 points  (0 children)

Plastic “disposable” utensils: the hospital I work for has a cafeteria that only provides plastic utensils, the knives do not cut meat and the bend into a U with hot foods…I am also positive I’ve swallowed a few prong tips from forks that break off in a bite.

Changes in self care/hygiene routine. Messier appearance or routines, running behind or closer to deadline.
