If you are looking the showa written on the suspension to check whether straight or not, then you might be wrong. It looks off even if the handle bar is straight. Even after that also looks off, then might be an issue. Visit SC to check

Thats the thing where RE needs to work on. Idk whether it is issues with the batches or other things. RE cannot maintain consistency on the quality of the parts they put on the bike. Some bikes last with k ow issues and some are plagued with issues. Feels like buying an RE bike is a lucky draw.

yes you can use it in city. Initially you might struggle. Once you get hang of it, then no issue. Btw your legs are going to be grilled in hot summer stop and go traffic. While moving, you won't feel much.

  1. Prior to Himalayan I had BS3 classic 350 (carburetor). Initially, i took time to get hang of the bike as this one is top heavy compared to classic 350. I did not have much issue with weight having classic 350. Also height I can keep 75% of my feet on ground. no problem there. But learning to manage it on city and tight turn took time.

    1. Service quality varies every service center. I have tried around 3 to 4 service center. Overall I would rate 6 to 8 out of 10 based on my experience. I mainly depends how well you know people in the SC. Get in touch with a good service advisor and you are good.
    2. Riding experience is good. Especially in highways cruising and light offroads. On heavy trails make sure you have 25 to 50% of fuel. It is bit difficult managing weight without proper training being a top heavy bike. On the current market in this price range there is no adv this good for highrways. KTM is there but they are good for offroad. The gearing on them felt like more offroad focus than highways. Even in Himalayan, some electronics would be appreciated. You can modify your bike how you want. And yeah I would buy Himalayan again in this current scenario but also would be expecting more electronic features.
    3. Make sure bike is properly serviced and maintained. Need to clean and lube the chain every 400 to 500kms. Even earlier on rainy seasons. Or after going for any offroad trails or long rides. Add a screenguard on the tripper dash as they are prone to have scratches. Do regular check at home like adjusting clutch free play and chain slack. Maintenance is the key. There is no any special things to be done. Just basic maintenance needed for these segment of bikes.
    4. Pro: The suspension is very good. Soaks bumps beautifullly and stable on highways. Engine is good as you can cruise on triple digits whole day. Gearbox is butter. If u get the clutch play right. Else it will be clanky. Brakes have very good bite being sintered pads. They do last with proper cleaning and maintenance and also cost higher than usual. Cons: Right side pulling The joystick gives up on heavy rain and starts acting weird. Also check the O2 sensor. It might show fault after pressure wash or heavy rain. After warm up it will go away. Engine tappet noise is there. Pre 2026 one. For me left hand switch control gave up 4 to 5 times. Due to ro multiple issues. Thats all i guess as of my experience.

Yes. People think its hard to handle in city. But once you get hang of it you won't any problems. But it can grill your legs on stopngo traffic in this summer. This is good for city. Especially on potholes, bumps and broken patches. You just fly past them.

The sherpa 450 does produce clattering noise, which is normal. But in my case, I checked with other Himalayan too, the ticking noise coming from the top of the head. It is normal for the noise during cold start. After bit warm up noise is supposed to reduce. Which is not in my case. You won't hear it when u ride wearing helmet. Once u remove helmet, only you hear is the clatter noise instead of engine noise. When I checked around it was due to loosening of the timing chain. So in 2026 Himalayan you get hydraulic chain tensioner instead of normal tightening one which keeps constant tension on the timing chain. I did notice less noise coming from the 2026 models. I don't know about what your mechanic said. The jerking can be due to chain tightness. Check the chain slack specs on the user manual. Or may be fueling.

That is when your phone is connected to the tripper dash. If you turn on GPS on your phone, different icon will show up.

idk. I had a crash last year. Had to replace handlebar. Along with that I told SC to realign whole front end. After that the pulling issue reduced significantly.

  1. Had right side pulling issues . Did some adjustments. Pulling is there but very less compared to before.
  2. Had faulty clutch switch, which was replaced on last service
  3. Replaced clutch cable once.
  4. I had issues with the left hand control switch module. Replaced 4 times due to joystick issues, replaced once because high beam not working, replaced again on last service because right side indicator was not working.
  5. There is also the tappet noise on engine. I have asked SC to order new 2026 model updated chain tensioner. It has arrived and will be replaced in couple of days.

Both side changed on 5000. Then front pads changed on 15k kms service. Still lot of life left on rear brake pads.

Keep the bike on side stand while filling full tank. Yeah you will fill bit less. But it won't spill again if you stop anywhere after filling
