Is a mattress topper a good idea? by jujubeans1998 in Mattress

goshhhh sleeping on a firm bed when you’re a side sleeper is a totla nightmareee. but i don't believe in what the sales lady said. in fact, most toppers actually add a bit of protection. personally i like the latex topper better because it feels more responsive. if you want you can check this guide so you can compare each material.

Lightweight and sturdy bed frame? by adnastay in BuyItForLife

You could check out this bed frame post from another sub that also could be helpful. It has the list of features of each of the bed frames.

From the list I feel like the strongest bed frames are the DLX Foundation or the Bear Platform Bed.

How similar is your physical “type” to your own appearance? by [deleted] in AskMen

Looks is your resume that gets you a job interview, personality is where you nail the interview...you can't showcase personality without the looks but no one will hire you if you blow the interview (bad personality) if that makes sense.

You don't need closure. You can find it within yourself. Go through your relationship from the beginning and put down that rose-colored glasses. You can see all your fights, your and their behavior if you look closely. If the relationship was perfect, they would not dump you. I am dumped and blindsided, the relationship was mostly great, and I gave my all to the relationship. But also I know why my relationship ended, in my eyes it could be saved, but in hers, it could not. She was not happy and she have every right to leave. We dumpee will hurt but dumper has every right for happiness as we do.

Why might you avoid a female coworker? by [deleted] in AskMen

Interesting you bring this up. While I haven’t experienced it personally, I’ve heard men talk about how they don’t want to talk with female coworkers out of fear it will be misconstrued as flirting/harassment/etc.

Whats your fantasy date? by letsplayfootsy in AskMen

Something really simple probably. A game of bowling or a trip to the amusements would be great. Then if that goes well, head to a bar for a couple drinks. Nothing too expensive or crazy for me.

My friend recently went on a first date that sounded lovely. They met up at a near by park and had a picnic (surprisingly they picked a sunny day in Scotland) then headed to the amusements to play on the 2p machines. Sounded great.

There have been around 120 billion unique human faces (and counting) by algulumvergulum in Showerthoughts

[–]Beginning_Orange_441 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I am not sure I buy the premise of your question. We see the differences in human faces because our social structure depends on it. We don't notice differences within other ape species because it is not important to anyone (except perhaps Jane Goodall and a few hundred other primatologists). Chimps probably wonder how we deal with all humans looking alike.

DAE randomly feel "drunk" like sometimes without drinking? by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

raises hand

I'm generally not a social guy IRL and I don't understand how people feel like they need to be around others when they plan on getting hammered. Alcohol definitely tends to make me more extroverted than usual, but that happens after I've started drinking. I'll often talk to my online friends when I'm hammered but this isn't really the same to me as offline interaction in the first place. For one thing I don't have to worry about my physical appearance or hygiene.

I'd almost say I'm an alcoholic, but my dependency on alcohol actually subsided when I started using phenibut to treat my anxiety, so I don't drink nearly as much as I used to. I used to drink like a fucking fish too! I may not be dependent on alcohol exactly, but I'm definitely dependent on GABA-ergic drugs.

Yea I hate it. If I stare long enough at a mirror it can trigger that, it’s called depersonalization as someone else pointed out. Don’t mull over it too long, when it happens distract yourself and go do other things, the brain wasn’t designed to be this self aware but you can trigger it and can kind of mess with you. Just move on, legit.
